Question Home made power on/shutdown device

Hello, I'm new on that board, but I've been reading post here for last 2-3 weeks and now my carputer projet is starting. Onlyproblem is that I have a concern about powering the computer.
First of all, I live in canada so shipping cost is an issus...

Computer gonna use a normal ATX PSU running on 120 VAC, as for the car I'll use an inverter. Only problem is to powerup those thing and the biggest problem is to poweroff them... I was thinking about a relay that would be on the 12V line that goes to the ivnerter and an other relay between the power switch pin from the mobo (and a delay device between those two action (didn't figured it yet just read http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=52552)

As for the shutting down device, I just don't have any idea, any help would be really apreciated

Search on terms "DIY shutdown" or "DIY". You'll find lots of threads on the topic.

I posted some stuff about the shutdown controller i built for my car here:
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=39736

It's based on a PICAXE microcontroller, which is relatively easy to code for and program compared to other stuff out there, but it's probably overkill for most people. Probably easier to buy one from the mp3car store if you live in North America.
