Opus 150 problem (overloading rails)

Hey guys, i am having some problems with my Opus 150 in my system.. I have a MII10000, 512 MB ram, a 2.5" HD, and an Audigy for the computer side. on top of that, i am running both my LCD screens, standalone dvd player, and a vga switcher off molex plugs on my Opus.

sometimes it will post and other times it doesn't, it makes the carputer almost ueseless. when i bring a spare 250w home computer powersupply out to the truck, it boots EVERY time. i doubt im using all 150w of the Opus so im thinking im overloading one of the rails. how do i measure how much im pulling of the 5v and 12v rails to determine if im running too many things?

also, it seems if i unplug all my accessories, the computer posts more regularly, that is another reason i think im overloading one of the rails.

Thanks guys,
Craig

the 12v rail on the opus is weak..... get that stand alone dvd player off of it....if it still acts up consider an alternative to power one or both lcd's..... relieve the load on the 12v rail & you should be good..... I think it only handles 5 amps total....

i agree, i doesnt take much to overload the opus 150 12v rail. Run separate power to the screens and the dvd player.

you guys were right!! finally all my carputer problems are solved.. once i unplugged the molex that powered the DVD player, it booted everytime. so I kept powering the LCD's with the Opus and wired the DVD player to the fuse box and it works flawlessly.. a computer in the car is pretty much useless if it isn't as reliable as stock! thanks guys!

its always good to not put alot on the opus unless the 12v it needs has to be a regulated 12v. im guessing your standalone dvd player doesnt need a regulated supply. therefore never put it on your opus youll just strain it. im running a p4 system with the opus 150. i had a fullsize 7200 rpm 200gig hd and the 8 inch lilli along with my mobo running all off the opus. it was working fine. however i decided to get a small 75 watt inverter which i had laying around i plugged my lilliput into it with its power brick and also a usb hub to power my usb devices. i dont want to overload anything since i have a p4 system. so far so good. all i got left to power up is a fullsize dvd player combo. any suggestions?
