Opus 150 -Ignition failed

I have the Opus 150 psu, i have everything conected inside the car (12v, ground,ignition).
The problem is that the Opus acts like having no automatic shutdown, when i turn on the Key the computer doesnt boot and when its on it doesnt shutdown when i turn off the car.
The ignition wire i use is the same as my Headunit use(and it works fine with it).

Does anyone experienced anything like this ???

The only thing that helps is that if i double click my mouse the computer turn on , but the shutdown must be manual

sounds like an issue with the motherboard pins

Have you checked the DIP header settings to make sure you have selected shutdown mode.

Make sure the white\green wire is hooked up to the mobo correctly.

I thought that all opus 150 had that setting as default...

How can i know the settings, opus came without instructions or manual....

I had a PDF file, but i cant seem to find it

I dont have it conected to the motherboard right now because if i do that i can not start the computer with the double click on the mouse....

If that white\green cable is not connected it is normal that it doesn't shutdown,that is the cable that signal the mobo to shutdown the pc.

I know that, but it didnt work with wire conected to the motherboard either, so in order to start the computer by double taping the mouse buton i had to disconect the green/white from the motherboard....
When i try to activate the automatica shutdown/startup i always conect the wire to the mobo.

try the green / white cable the other way round, its the wrong way round it wont do anything.

I have noticed this, Why is that? When i work on my carputer in my house i just short out those pins to turn it on, why does the oreintation matter.

How does it work?

Electricity. Positive and Negative. They have to be right. Or current will not flow. I had the same issue, just flip the connector around 180.

yea, i noticed this with mine too. drove me nuts.

so stupid, it really should just be a relay that closes like a momentary switch. whatever tho.

my little rule for pulling the cable out is green to the pci. opposite from what you would think, white to the pci. but its all cool.

it might be different for you depending on what mobo you have, i have the p4 870 mini itx found in the store on this site.

I know electricity, what im saying is when i at home I just turn my mobo on by touching tweezers to each jumper. Does the opus have the current from the mobo flow trough it to turn it on or does it just short it out. Do you get what I'm asking?

If so many people hadn't said that they also noticed this behavior, I'd have called BS. You're right - normally you'd expect the wires to just be shorted like a normal computer case power switch does. After taking 15 seconds to think about it, I can only conclude that the opus uses a transistor to operate the power switch. This would mean that the wires need to be connected a certain way so that the (extremely tiny amount of) current is able to flow from the mobo, through the transistor, back into the other pin on the mobo which is what powers it on. Think of a transistor as a much smaller (potentially microscopic) relay, only the catch is that current can only flow one way.
