Shuttle G5 1100h and Opus Power Supply

So, I want to get the Shuttle G5 1100h, which is a Pentium M powered Shuttle (same basic form factor as the rest of the Shuttles. Logical solution to the power supply would be the Shuttle XPC 150 watt power supply from Opus, a high quality (from everything I have read on the board) power supply.

Seems to make sense.

And then, I read more on the specs of the G5 1100h, and it appears to use a power brick style external power supply. 200 watts, so with the P-M, a 150 watt Opus would work just fine, but looking at the pictures of the connection from the external power supply to to case, it looks rather proprietary.

So, since search has turned up nothing, does anyone know anything about this, whether it is feasible or not? I would prefer to go with something that mounts inside the case, but I could easily make a mount outside the case as well, for a quality Opus supply of something along those lines.

A link to the specs for the Shuttle G5 1100h is here: http://sys.us.shuttle.com/G5_1100.aspx

Thanks for any help
Dave

So long as the motherboard has an ATX connection, and the Opus can power your components, you shouldn't have a problem. It doesn't matter what the connection is on the stock PSU as that won't be used anyway.

Well, thats the thing, I don't know if the motherboard has an ATX connection,a s it is a proprietary Shuttle motherboard. I haven't been able to figure it out from the specs on the website.

G5 1100 motherboard:
o Pentium M (socket 479)
o Intel 915GM + ICH6M chipset
o PCI Express Interface
o Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900

It's also known as the SD11G5. Link to manual
And no, it does not have an ATX power connector on the motherboard. It looks like a proprietary connector. They're calling it ETX.

bah.

I wonder if the Opus power supply would put out the right power leads that I culd cut and splice.

A curse on all proprietary ****!

Thanks for the info, anyhow.

Or you could save yourself some hassle and all this research and go with a different bare-bones system

Bah. It has all the features I want...except that power supply problem. Also looking at one of the Monarch Butterfly systems.

Would be nice, wouldn't it? I would probably go with an inverter. That is the lazyman's carPC. Too bad it has the problem like most new Shuttle cases - no PCI slots.

No, no inverter for me. Too many hassles. Anyways, I found my solution:

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/general-hardware-discussion/63636-mb896-p-m-mini-itx-intel-915-chipset.html

The mini-ITX motherboard listed int hat thread, and OPUS case and power supply, and various other components, including a 2.26 GHz Pentium M.
