New powersupply! Question about PCI riser card.

I just got my new DC-DC PSU and i thought I would show it off, even though I an not the first.

I was also wanting to ask if anyone knows if the Amptron M586LMR needs a power good. If so what would be the best route to make the new PSU work? If the easiest way is to just use the reset button then I will go that way.

Also I bought that PCI riser card off of ebay and the seller said that even though it is made by Apple Computer it would work with any computer Apple or not. The card works if I plug something into one of the slots but if I plug a card into the second slot it won't even boot. My current board only has two PCI slots. I even tried it with nothing plugged into the second slot of the motherboard.(no luck) I would love to make this work so I can add another PCI slot.

Also I was reading about mounting hard drives and I read that someone said to mount a dard drive verticle so the cylinders won't hit each other when you hit bumps in a car. I was wondering if it is the same for labtop hard drives since they are mounted horizontally in a labtop and they can withstand a beating???????? Let me know so I can begin to mount my hard drive....

The Amptron (really PCChips) 586 does not need a power good signal. It will boot up with a few seconds delay even without one.

I would say that your PCI riser card is not compatible with PCs, or the Amptron board. Those boards are not really designed to be incredibly expandable. Oh, and check the manual. I think you may have to disable the onboard sound or modem in order to use more than one PCI slot.

I prefer to mount my HDs vertically, but it is a toss up as to which is better. I say go veticle unless you have a specific reason not to (space or some other reason).
