Cmon, can I please get some feed back of what you think of the supply??
Yeah, I also added an inductor to the input, and replaced the main filter cap from what is shown in the first picture..
It seems like it will be able to power my system without a problem, but I am yet to test it properly.
It will have to be run directly from the battery, because there is too much of a voltage drop when using the cig lighter socket..
PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK!!!!!!

wad, I didn do id in purpose..
I was using a standard mains power socket, and was testing the power supply in the house, (and humming as I went) and wasn't paying attebtion to what I was doing, and picked up the mains cable, (that was plugged into a power point and turned on) and plugged it into the back of the computer..
simple really..

Closed. I'm really sick of SkinnyBoy not paying attention to others, and I'm sick of others bashing him for it.
SkinnyBoy: Everyone gave you their opinions on your power supply when you first proposed it, and that's probably the reason they aren't sharing them now. When you have another prototype, feel free to post information about. I know that I am very anxious to be proven wrong when your supply works. It means that there IS a low cost way to make a DC-DC.
Everyone else: Leave SkinnyBoy alone. If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it. Remember that constructive criticism is useful, criticism is just useless and wastes everyone's time.

OMG I just re-read this thread, mains power, half built psu made for 12v in? your still alive............
No stop now before you hurt yourself, using a mains in socket was a disaster waiting to happen, as I guess you know, but the fact that you did this should tell you something.......

HAHAHAH!!!
this is my old thread!!! BAHAHAHA!!!
and, I actually ended up running the P100, in the car, off a linear power supply for a few months, with no issues at all... except that the serial ports didn't work, because I had no negative rails
