Opus green wire "T"ing with soft power computer button

Hey guys and gals,

Got a question about an OPUS 150 wiring setup. I extended my main computer "power" and "reset" buttons 12 feet to put up in the dash. I have an Opus 150. (CarPC not installed yet). I just got to running the Opus 150 wires and saw the green wire used for the "auto turn-on"feature. My question is:

-Can i cut the end off my computer's power button wire and splice it into the green OPUS 150 wire so that I can still have a power button as well as the "auto turn-on" Feature??

Would I need to install anything extra if I did this? Like a diode or something to ensure correct signal path? or would either the power button or remote on feature fail to work if both were connected at the same time? Thanks for any help on this.

P.S. Matt--this is chuck

Maybe this will clarify my question a little bit....Here is a visual picture of how my wiring is going to go....My question lies with the splice of the Opus green wire with the original computer's power button wire.....Any thoughts?

Anyone wire this thing up similarly?

Thanks,

Tangeray

in theory it sounds like it should work. Pretty much the opus just mimics a power button push and waits for the motherboard to "request" power.
