But its a lot of $$$. I was wondering if the carpc psu be use like that? How would you have a on and off switch added? I go to car show and it would be nice to have my car power from the building electric so my battery don't die. If anyone have idea or suggestions, please let me know.

If you're using the building's electricity, can't you just use a normal trickle charger?

Thanks for the reply but for shows, the car power need to be running and a inverter like the one I will will give it constant current. I pretty sure the trickle charger only charge when the car is off. Any other idea?

If you just want to power the CarPC, temporarily connect a standard PSU.

If you want to power the whole CAR off AC, you're going to need something a hellofalot beefier than a PC power supply. You'll have to spend money on a unit.

I had something similar powered off two 12v car batteries, when the thing was in the pit area, i'd have it charging off a 20a Boat charger. I think that cost around $200-$300.

Converting from AC to high-amp DC isn't a cheap thing to do, apparently.
