I'm an owner of a DSATX PSU .. havent got it incar yet, but bench testing it so far has me very happy .. nice little unit!

I made my own BrainStem cable for it - works great..love that feature.
I'm curious if its possible to reflash the device (ie: Firmware Upgrade) via the brainstem (I implemented something similar in my final year electronics thesis)? As this would save having to send back to USA for code upgrades (I'm in AUS).

My main question however is if there is any way to monitor the PC's current draw via the PSU? Either in total, or per rail (which would be ideal).

Failing that, I'll use a shunt on the incoming Vcc to the PSU (as my DMM only takes 10A max) .

Yes you can upgrade the firmware over the Brainstem. There is a bootloader in the DSATX. You can't set the fuses however with the bootloader.

Ther is no way to monitor input current, I toyed with the idea but I would have needed a differential amp on the input. You can get close by monitoring the voltage drop across the fuse. I'm not sure how accurate you need. A 0.005 ohm resistor could be used up to 20 amps...

What is the latest version? Is there a revision history anywhere.. and is it available for D/L?
