Splicing Power from Head unit for lcd screen??

I was wondering if it a good idea to splice the 12v power from my stock head unit on my Mazda w/ Bose system to power my new 7in lcd. The screen will consume 8-12w. I was wondering what the potential problems would be with this setup. any help would be appreciated.

Rundell is on a distinguished road
it may be helpful to know what type/brand of screen you have.

1. The specs say it requires 12v, as opposed to an input range. Considering there's not a car out there that will provide a stable 12v, you need a device to provide it (also known as a regulator) or some other means of providing stable 12v.
2. DigitalWW has an email address and a phone number. Did you even think to email Armen from DigitalWW for more information?

It fluctuates, as does all the car's electrical power.
Mine goes from a low of around 9v to a high of 14v, depending.

I'll say it again: You need something to provide a stable 12v for that screen, lest you risk frying it.
