I’m starting work on my car PC and I’m buying up the parts and just received the docking station for a Gateway Solo 9550. The laptop will be in the trunk so I need to setup a remote turn-on from the front of the car. I was going open it up and install one of the solutions I found here on the website. But to my surprise the Docking station came a remote power switch port:

I did some more looking around and found that its mini jack (2 pin)

Now my question is how do I build the button, push button or on/off and do I need to supply any voltage or do i just loop the two pins?

ok i did some more research and i wan to use a CarNetix P1900 instead of the car adapter i was going to use originaly.

can i just connect the ACPI Relay Output of the P1900 to the port?
