PyCar 1.2.3.0-pre1 released( pics, download )
Guys,
Just want to introduce you a new look for the PyCar. It has following features implemented:
- Plays mp3, mp2, ogg, ac3, wma
- Plays audio disks
- Plays avi, VideoCD, SVCD and DVDs
- Shows media information for all supported formats
- Displays album pictures( cover art )
- Playlists
- Interacts with LCD
- local CDDB support for Audio disks( take a copy from the http://freecddb.org )
- i18n compatible, russian language translation included( any other volunteers ? )
- Adjustable cache size for skip free playback while on the road
- Touch screen friendly
- Skinnable

Looks beautiful! I love the skin structure! It's cool that everything is skinable, even the icons. I like the bar on the right also, that would be great for jumping from GPS to Audio quickly. It's obvious that you put a lot of planning into PyCar, and hopefully all the other programers will see the advantages in your layout.

External app support? That way we can add gps, camera, phone, etc... also be nice if external apps could be called from main menu through skin modifications

Could you still use this skin if you don't have a touchscreen???? Will a remote allow you to navigate the buttons....

You can define skinless interface for that. Or use lighter skin such as 128x64...
