Interesting, I don't think so - I am trying to have it press cntrl - alt - del for me so if I can end something that freezes up on me. It will take a lot of keyboard shortcuts, but I can't seem to get it to take that.

I was wrong, you can hybernate, it is an option. However the cntrl alt delete and alt tab isnt working for me.

Griffin Powermate Volume Knob

*photo from Griffin's site

The powermate came in. Turns out you can use it for multiple things. if you turn left & right it does one thing. you hold down and turn it can do another.

i have mine set to
Left = scroll up
Right = scroll down
Hold Down & Left = Decrease volume
Hold Down & Right = Increase volume
Click Down Tap = Mute

I made a short clip using the powermate while showing the new Centrafuse XLE, i didnt go over navi.

I really like it, i plan to get another one. put this in my car and the other for my desktop
the reason I like the weight is, it doesnt feel cheap, it feels reliable.

oh yeah this works on mac too.

Pros:
- Heavy(although i think it should be heavier)
- Easy to use
- Installs well
- Aesthetically pleasing
- doesn't feel cheap in hands

Cons:
- Blue Led is neat but to flashy for me
- USB cable could be longer

its worth the money.

Nicely said, and I want another two, one for my desktop and for my wifes desktop.

I see three version or model #s, 1040-PMT, 1100-PWRMTS, and 3260-PMBK.
There also appears to be various packagings and a black anodized aluminum colored version.

Are there any hardware differences?

Been using one for quite a while, main function for me was to be able to do ALT+Tab and contol volume. ALT+Tab, no problem, it controls the volume nicely aswell, but I need to control Wave, not looked into it too much though. Mounted it as below:
