I would be curious to see what other people that have this board think of it in operation. Overall Newegg.com people say it is a good deal except for a few that have my exact problem. So I guess it is a "if it works, it works excellent. If it doesn't work, it will never work..."

I am in love with this board although I have not bought it...... i am buying it from logic supply though, which will test the MoBo before sending it out. The board is 80 dollars more, and they charge an additional 14.95 for the test, but at least i know I will not get a bad MoBo unless UPS damages it.
Please like Toaster asks, if you have this board please comment on it, what your impression and experience is. Post alot of details.

^^^Sounds worth the extra cost in this case if you really want THIS motherboard...

I had the same thing happen on my Sh@@# VIA C7 board. I turned it on out of the case and it beeped and started loading the operating system. i hope you tried this cause a very stupid error. I noticed that my SATA cable was jiggling and when put back in the case it would disconnect enough to make the system not boot. Just fans spinning and lights on, but no beep and boot. I replaced with a lockable cable. Have you checked this?

Yup, actually never put it in a case, resting on various things (non of them conductive btw )
Also using IDE not SATA, and the cable was snug, and HD known to be good as it boots right away in different mobo.

I know this is usually not the case and a troubleshooting basic step, but, do you have any PCI cards in it? I just had a bad PCI to PCMCIA adapter cause the system to do the same thing.

Nope. No PCI.
I stripped it to basics. I wanted to be sure before I made a ranting post.

I've run 2 of these motherboards, have one sitting here right next to me right now. I'm stripping Windows preping it for the truck.
From what I've heard, we've not had many, if any, complaints about this board from our customers...then again, we don't have as many customers as NewEgg.

Good news! Well for me.... Not for Jetway...
My brand new MSI Fuzzy board came in today. Put the exact same T2050 chip in it, and the new Geil RAM (because it is shiny with those nifty heatsinks ) and bam! It booted up instantly. Shut it off, put the T5500 in it, and again booted right on up.
I took out the Geil RAM, and tried the 4 sticks of RAM I had next to me that all were doomed to fail in the J9F2 (Including the 1 stick of single sided high density RAM), and voila, booted right up.
This to me in the last piece of awesomeness I needed to officially say I despise Jetway. I am fairly confident I gave it a fair shot, and spent almost x3 what I would have if it worked with what it advertises to work with.
This MSI Fuzzy board is awesome so far. Only complaint is that it requires the P4 connector (I am not sure if it is still called that but the 2x2 supplemental power cable by the CPUs that debuted with the P4) to boot up. No P4 connector, it beeps and shuts off. At least it beeps though! My heart skipped a beat the first time, thinking "oh ****, I goofed big time", but it works wonders with that connector.
Also a big advantage for the Fuzzy is that it actually has PS2 connectors! Yay! I can use my oldschool keyboard and mouse inside testing.
So my experience:
MSI Fuzzy >>> Jetway J9F2
Again, I could be the unlucky bastard who got the only 2 DOA boards out there, but something tells me that is a long shot. I would advise not to buy this board, unless your vendor has a return policy incase it is DOA, and unless you have deep pockets that make you want to dish out money troubleshooting Jetway's craptastic design flaws.
Oh yeah, same chipset, same controller, but MSI can take 4Gb of RAM, and Jetway can take only 2Gb? WTF?

Someone mentioned that there is a place to order from that will test it before they ship it for a fee. That would be the way to go for this board.
I would hate to discount a manufacturer's product because of this but...

Speaking of NewEgg, take a look at the reviews for the Jetway board on NewEgg. Looks like you're not the only one who had problems with this board, Toast. Of the 6 reviews posted for it, three of them had critical issues requiring the board to be exchanged (one guy was on his third one), and the other three had SOME sort of issue with it that needed tweaking to get solved (mostly onboard video issues).

OK, i have heard to many horror stories about this board and I am now not liking it.... I think I'll go for a MSI Industrial GM965 Core 2 Duo Mobile Mini-ITX Mainboard http://www.logicsupply.com/products/ms_9803. I dont like that it does not have a VGA and DVI.... So I will have to buy a second graphics card. Does a PCI express riser work with this board? I would think that if I went with PCI Express the graphics would be better and more stable. I do know this board has slow post times, but at this point i dont car. Sometimes power takes alittle longer.... Any user info on this board?

I posted a review on newegg and had a small posting here about the Jetway board. Certainly has its issues, but it worked out for me in the end just fine. I still don't know why I can't get HDMI to work right, but I don't use it anyway. Everything else is solid. I bought some RAM rated at 667-4x4x4x10 and it didn't work. Bluescreens constantly. Went to 533 with the same timings and it has been solid. From what I read, very few sticks of ram perform at 667 on this board, but it's still so fast at the lower clock speed. I don't think Jetway's quality assurance is very good, but if the board works, it's not bad.
I'm definitely satisfied with it despite the pitfalls I ran into. It's definitely nice to have so much overhead now. Don't have to worry about everything slowing down just 'cause winamp is running visualization. On the other hand, a coworker of mine who saw my carpc and wanted to run one too went with the MSI GM965 and initially could not get video to post from the board. So, even with what I consider a higher quality board, you still have these flukes that happen.

Which exact MSI board did you get Toaster? The one on LogicSupply only has a VGA. Can you give me the link? I see this one on the MSI's website http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...M965&class=ipc, but only thing I see is that it has HDTV out......
This uses the P4 connector??????????? <runs to OPUS power supply> , OMG thank good it has one......
Also are you using the onboard 7.1 sound to run through your speakers? Is it any good? I have a soundblaster USB, but it would be cool to ditch it and have space for something else.
