Hauppauge WinTV HVR-950 USB stick

Just received this new toy and was really impressed with the picture quality this little stick has.. The tuner can receive analog, as well as the new atsc (digital) programming. Nice thing about the digital feed is that its a crystal clear picture.

where are the signals coming from. Do you just snag them out of the air. Or do you get them from your cable/satellite box and them port them to your carputer? Or are you getting them from a streaming site?
