Going into hibernation mode took about 9 seconds, coming out took about 21seconds. So its not that much faster then a straight boot but I would say that the system is in idle a lot sooner then a straight boot. I.e. That time period where explorer is loaded, but XP still loading "stuff".

What video card and driver are you using with MCE 2005 on an EPIA board? I can't my setup to play video even though everything else needed to play video is installed and working.

I found MCE 2004 just fine with a touch screen. MCE 2005 is worse - it has bugs such that you click something, the button clearly presses and then something else launches instead. Very sucky.

tejesh83, Please read the review. I stated everything you need to know about touch screen. Also all the pictures I posted are of the Music Interface Program that is called Media Center.

I didn't feel the need to post any info about the rest of the operating system, because I feel this will be primarily used for touch screen and non touch screen carputers.

I myself am personaly buying a 10-12" touchscreen AND the remote. The remote in my opinion is well worth having.

Also if you want to purchase it legaly, you dont have to purchase it with a computer, www.newegg.com. As some have said, you could buy a hard drive cable and be eligible to buy the OEM Version. I agree because they dont say anything about buying a full computer with it, they just say you have to purchase something else in order to buy the OEM Version.

Arathranar, Try reinstalling your touch screen. It should have no problems! There aren't any bugs with 2005 if you have it installed right and any driver updates it might have, installed.

Can you post a few screenshots of the music interface.

Thanks.

if there was some cool way in which you could use Hybrid's XM-Direct adapter and MCE 2005 it would be awesome...

So how do you reach the Play DVD option on the main menu? Is that visible if you haven't enabled TV input. The TV guide & inability to directly click the Play DVD button on the main menu are the two worst touchscreen bugs introduced by MCE 2005. So if you don't watch TV, maybe you won't see the new bugs.

You have to download special drivers for MCE 2005. NVidia and ATI have drivers for it but I don't know what EPIA uses.
It is very touchscreen friendly. The only issue I can see so far with it is I have a ton of songs so it takes about 20 seconds or so to open up the music section if I come from a differant section. That, and if you want to do a search you have to have a keyboard or remote because there is no OSK.

you have to put your cursor at the top/bottom of the list and it will automatically scroll down to the other options.

So do you run it at 1024x768 and have the lilliput downscale?
