What a freaking crock of crap.. I just bought a $180 tuner card and now I have to chuck out more loot for a better video card?

I'm not so sure this is it.. I've seen on a board where my problem was asked and people posted your answer then someone else would follow up saying that their's is working with a 16MB video card or some crap like that..

MSFT BLOWS.

man, what Fordo said is correct, MS would not sell it by itself due to the support headache, you have to have the right HW. You want MC, get an MC PC, MS IS NOT SELLING THE DAMN THING. The point is simple, Joe Schmow and his cousin Six Pack are not the target audience for MC, either you get it ready installed on a PC or hack your way but don't complain.
For example, a previous poster indicated that he could not find drivers for his old card, that is exactly why MS is not selling it, they never advertised it or promoted as a stand-alone OS. That is why the damn thing is called Media Pc, got it

Oh great point... I guess I really shouldn't be upset then.. 100% of their software works 100% of the time as long as you have the requirements..

My bad.

MSFT DOESN'T BLOW!! WOOHOO!!!

Waaaaaaa!!!

I have one issue that I have noticed with my MCE2005 install. Maybe some of you have seen it as well???

When browsing by cover art I can see all my albums with no problem. (about 600) BUT If I browse by artist, some of the albums that I know I have for that artist do not show up but if I switch to the "Show Songs" under that artist it will show the songs from the missing albums!!??!!? WTF???

Now don't try to say it's my tags because it's not. I'm very anal about the tags and ALL of the albums showed up properly in MCE2004.

Any ideas?

You had better make sure all your hardware is on the MSFT Approved HW List.

ARGGH!! ARGHH!!!

Does MCE2004 also require a 64MB video card?

Oh come on! You bought a $180 tuner (I don't even have a tuner yet) Go down to your local PC store and pick up a cheap GeForce, I got a eVGA GF 4 with 128megs, DVI, Svideo out for $55. Just bite the bullet and get it over with.

Trust me, I feel your pain, I really really do, because even when you get it working, MS will still BLOW!
