Ouch! I've been in the same situation. It was either stop buying computer hardware or she was gonna leave................. I miss her sometimes.
But then I do have a working MCE 05 on a 51" HDTV with which I can watch porn with.

I installed MCE 2005 on my epia MII with video on the board with no problems !!
So, I don't think that it's a video memory amount problem

Then I'd guess it might be something related to either incompatibility between 2004/2005, or some software lock to specific hardware? I dont know... if it isnt working out of the box, and it isnt documented that it requires patches or whatever there might be something else with a problem..... Mobo incompatibility? (unlikely i think, perhaps impossible)...other incompatibility... sometimes u get an error that isnt really realted to the problem (Like being unable to hibernate a computer with wrong VGA drivers!!!)

Ok, I'm back....I've been workin on car stuff recently. I dont have the patience to catch up to everything here...but I wanted to tell you guys about the Applications. Go to start menu, programs, apps, Media Center, Media Center PRograms, and you can add any program you wish. Here's a screen shot.
MCE for me works perfect. Buy the remote, it runs kick ***...every car stereo you buy these days have remotes....I barly touch the screen anyways, but alot of the time I do. And it works fine. I have been workin my *** off to get a DVD Decoder to work without installing Power DVD...but I think I'm downloading the wrong things.
At first install, MCE told me all the errors all of you had....but then it stoped once I installed the newest updated Nvidia drivers for my GF4.
Everything runs kick *** except the DVD unless Power DVD is installed. Which is ****in me off cause people have beeen tellin me to use NVDVD and I have, and it doesn't work....so I'm stilll workin on finding that **** out.

I figured out why I couldn't skin the Media Center program, and that was because my windows file protection is on. and I couldn't get it turned off the way Ben (mmc programer) told me how, so I just took my hard drive with a copy of the file allready pre made, and I deleted the proper file, and renamed the copy...and here's what I got...funny, the picture moves tho...I dont remember that happening with the original, but I'll continue to play. Hopefully learn a easier way to turn off WFP.

The only problem I have been having now, is the friggin internet. I finaly did enough research and found out the BEST decoder is WinDVD 6 Platinum...but its 95% done downloading and the shuttle has no more internet so I cannot finish downloading it. After I finish downloading it, I am going to reinstall the entire operating system from scratch and do it right this time. Because from the begining, the system had a DVD Decoder that was good enough for atleast WMP10 to play, but somehow I removed that from the cleaning and reinstalling of diff drivers. Now I just gotta find out which drivers are my NForce and NVidia nView drivers lmao....soo many nVidia things lurking around.
I'm still tryin to figure out how to stop the background from moving....if not, I'm thinkin of just turning the main blue cloudy background into black and grayish background.

The background moves to prevent burn in. It did it in 2004 as well.
