Right, you can probably get one at Walmart for 10 bucks. Strip the wires on the power suply, hook up the voltmeter and plug in the powersupply. The voltmeter will read "-12.00" or "12.00". When the positive lead (red) of the voltmeter is on the positive of the PSU it will read "12.00", if it is reversed it will read "-12.00"
Then you'll know which one is the positive lead, get to barrel plug, hook up that posive lead to the center pole, and the negative wire the ground pole.

Got the new camera today... Wow is this seller quick. I contacted him Saturday and I got a new one today.. Unreal...
Plugged it into a 12V DC adapter I have and it worked. I didn't have time to really check out the quality and what not but I will say this..
I don't think it will look that good in dark situations. It was very grainy in low light.. I think it will do just fine though..
Now, I have to think of two things.
1. Where to mount it (I have a truck so I can't put it in a keyhole of a trunk).
2. How to run the RCA cable to my Lilli (again since I have a truck I will have to run the wire all outside and find a way to get it inside).
Ideas for each of these would be great..

Use Infra Red LEDs to light up the area behind your car at night. You should be able to find infrared 'spotlights' that can be used. CCD cameras are particularly sensitive to infrared light...

Pick up some sched 40 conduit from home depot and fasten it to the frame rails then you can run the wire through that. Wire will be well protected in that. Somewhere under the carpeting in your truck there may be a rubber grommet that you could use to get the wires into the cab of the truck. Most trucks have them I think. If not just drill a hole in the floor (check underneath to make sure you won't hit any lines) to bring the wires through and use either a grommet from napa or some silicone RTV sealant to seal the hole up.

1. If you can, take a good picture of the truck's rear-end and post it here. That would be the best way to get educated opinions.
2. Like the other member stated, you've gotta route the RCA cable from the underside of the truck-bed into the cabin. There has to be a grommet to access the inside of the cabin. Either look for it or save yourself time and talk to a mechanic at a dealership for your car. If not, you will definitely find a firewall pass-through behind the engine in the engine bay (i.e. below the windshield).
Secure the cable using zip-ties to the car's chassis. Do NOT secure the cables to a moving part or something that will get hot. If you don't secure it right, you will hear the cable tapping against your chassis and it will drive you crazy.

As for mounting ideas, my last car had an OEM reversing camera, and it faced down and back at about 45 degrees. That way i could see my bumper on the bottom of the screen, and the top of the screen was straight back (it wasnt 120 degrees though). It allowed me to reverse to within 1cm of the car behind me, yet still reverse at speed and see what was behind me...
If you can, get a small plastic housing painted the colour of your truck and mount that near the top of your tailgate....

I used to know my old car so well that when I parallel parked it, I could back up to within 6" of the car behind me by just looking over my shoulder. When I opened the window and looked out, I could get within 2 or 3". I would practice every time I parked by guessing the distance and then checking my guess when I got out.
I'm not used to my new car yet, and the more that I hear about everyone on this site using backup cameras, the more I want to install one in my new car so that I can impress onlookers once again.
*sigh* The more I read on this site the more money I know I'm going to be putting into the car

Woh, you don't have too many good options on your truck. There is no keyhole and the problem is that the camera is designed to look like a keyhole.
Here is a kooky idea - why don't u go out and find a cheap chrome license plate frame and drill a hole on the top of it and mount the camera in that hole. You can even angle the camera downward with the adjuster rings included with the camera.
You can also do this with your pre-existing license plate frame - problem is, since the camera has a chrome ring it's going to be pretty obvious. You may want to think of painting the chrome ring black if you choose to go ahead with this.
The only thing you should worry about is if the top part of the license plate frame is wide enough for the diameter of the camera and if there is clearance behind the frame for the camera body. As I mentioned earlier, you could route the wires under the truck bed to your cabin.

Man... I took my license plate off and there is a hole right in the MIDDLE of where it goes.. It is an EXACT fit for the camera.. I would have to drill a hole through the license plate (which I dunno if that's legal or not) and that hole would sorta cut through part of the letters / numbers...
