I just received mine and it is great!!! I have had DeLorme (non LT-20) and the Pharos branded as Microsoft mouse and this unit is better than both and the Ayay Sir gets along with hibernation unlike the Microsoft unit. I would highly recommend it and by the way I only paid $35.50 shipped so I think I got a good deal.

Quick question, you can find these units on ebay for $24.99+$25shipping or $50. The offical site sells them for $120. Are the units being sold on ebay legitimate or knock-offs?

I just picked one of these up. It is my first gps reciever, but i am very impressed. Heres the listing on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160036407558 . Its ttff on its first ever run was less than a minute, and was around 45 seconds the last time i tested it. That was in a wide open area. Currently, inside my house, within five feet of a standard sized window it has 6 sats locked. Driving in wooded areas with lots of tree coverage was also no problem. It was positioned on my center console, under my arm, in a car with all windows except the windshield tinted. I plan on taking a trip to Atlanta on the weekend of Nov 11th, where I plan to test out my whole software setup on my laptop through an fm modulator into my head unit. Ill edit this post on my experiences in the urban jungle with this unit.

I took a trip to Atlanta last night, and paired my AyAysir receiver with my newly acquired Iguidance software and was extremely happy. The refresh rate was as stated by hari-bhari, anout once a second, but that only put me ahead of the receiver on the highway at about 80 mph. Everywhere else it was pretty much dead on. In downtown Atlanta it never lost lock until i went under the runway at Hartsfield int. Airport and then immediately regained signal on the other side. It also held plenty of signal amongst the tall buildings in the downtown and when passing through Spaghetti Junction. All in all i am quite pleased.

Has anyone else got anything good or bad to say about these units as I'm considering to buy the bluetooth version.
Cheers
Kosti

The performance sounds similar to the BU353 that I used to have. Has anyone compared this GPS with the BU353 or with another Sirf3 unit?

I recently purchased a Holux GR-213, which I'm not very happy with. I wish I had kept my AyAy.

Well I finally got mine and I must say the packaging was great. I've yet to power it up, but hope to do so very soon.
One thing that puzzles me is that the doco states that it's a Sirf2 but i was told that this is wrong and it's a Sirf3? How do I confirm this?
