getting near completion
Ok 2 weeks to go and alot has happened.
Ripped out my old setup which included a 5.6" TFT, Book PC and running CarPlayer as Frontend
Now i have 7" VGA/TS Lilliput, Sony Vaio running RR with a Sprint EVDO card for internet
I have decided on Simplistique as my skin.
Since my setup is in a 71 Beelte show car, I am going for the "WOW" factor. I have decided to get the most bang on the 1st menu.
Music, Slideshow Images, Video, DVD, Backup Camera, Internet, Utilities.
I have 2 spots open, I have GPS but i really enjoy Routis 2004, has any intergrated Routis 2004 into RR. I currently have it embedded and it should work ok, but having RR send commands would be great.
The real question is what can i add as an 8th button. Something with that "WOW" factor? I have been looking around and trying to come up with a perfect idea.
And well thats where I stand.
I have had a few car owners express an interest in having a similiar setup in their rides. 2 currently include a 53 Chevy and a rodster. The VW could be a catalyst for future installs. If the "WOW" is there
thanks

i tried traffic cam internationals , but it will not embed as nice as the standalone , but the standalone crashed on the first refresh
i may relook at traffic, since its already loaded or maybe look for a good embedded solution to internet radio
i got 2 weeks <g>

I think this could help you embeded Routis with RR really well (like iGuidance.) While I haven't try it myself, but in general, it should work as the 2 program is the same.
Use resource hacker and change the application name from Routis to iGuidance. RoadRunner will embed it nicely as iGuidance. One of the thing I am not sure about is the warning screen. If it take the "nowarning" parameter, then you are fine. Otherwise, you need another helper app like RoutisLaucher wrote awhile back by Frodo. Similar app also wrote be other member including me. It's much faster if you search the forum for the file instead of me sending you the file as I have to go thru my pile of old HD to find it .

Which is the standalone one?
Traffic Cam International just needs a skin done to match the simplistic skin. (skinning is almost the same as Road Runners)

This is base on iGuidance. Make sure to back up the exe first. Although Resource Hacker usually make a backup itself in this format progname_original.exe, but I always do it myself.
- Expand String Table
- Expand 126 and click on 1033
On the right side, after 2000, it probably stated as "Routis". Note that the quotation marks are included. So change it to "iGuidance".
- Click on Compile Script
- Save and enjoy.

I maybe using the wrong wording.
The first one was just for the UK, then one was just for US. The just for US crashed on refresh, but if i remmeber correctory it did well otherwise.
I was using it embedded into a common skin information.skin in Simplistique
CCNA Classes are over tonight, i will try and attack a seperate skin later this week
On a sidenote, the local street planner came by my office while i had the traffic program running and fell in ove with it. Given all he does all day is roads

Ok, yeah the UK and US ones were just betas so they may have had a few issue with stability, also in the original datbases supplied not all cameras were tested so it may have had some issues refreshing those.
If I had the simplistic PSD'd I might have a go at doing a skin for it.

correct - 6 cameras is enough for me right now.
As far as the search, i can add them by changing to Default skin and running it outside of RR.
May add the buttons, just wanted to get a grip on the "how to"
changing the camera image size is a real pita until i realized i needed to #1 delete out the lastest captures and change the size of the "no image found"
I can only assume that was the reason for all the unexpected errors. Its alot closer than it was.
