RR, iGuidance v3, USB GPS and XPort question

I'm using the software listed in the title....

On boot up everything is dandy and I couldn't ask for better..

but comming up from hybernate, the USB GPS (Holux) doesn't come back right away... it eventually does..and XPort looses connection and doesn't re-establish the connection at all...

Does RR really need to see the GPS??? If I only run iGuidance I have no issue.. it picks up after about 30-40 secs...

Thanks for any help

Vin

RR only needs to see the GPS if you want to use one of the add-ons, like a speedo.

I run a very simple system using the same stuff you list except I don't use XPort since I don't use GPS for anything other than iGuidance.

When you open the XPort control window, do you see the indicator to the left of the input port stay on or stay off, or does it go on and off every 20 seconds or so? If the GPS is not available for 30 to 40 seconds, you should see it stay on after about 3 or 4 times.

I have a check box that says Enable Service... which is checked...

On boot up I'll see the Data scroll in the status bar when it's working.... after comming from hybernate though nothing will scroll.... I have to close everything and start it up from scratch...

You should try version 1.10 and see if that helps. It has different timings and detection for inactivity.

Also, i was looking at this thread http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/soft...bernation.html

Close to the end, they talk about something called "devcon"; maybe it will give you some ideas.

I wouldn't expect DevCon or the built-in graphical DevCon to help since it's working without XPort. I would know more if I knew the state of the input port indicator, but it's probably just the driver isn't synchronized with the data coming in and has to be reopened again.
