Using a full copy of xp.

I'm re-registering the mci dll's right now.

But yes, the video's used to work under and older ver of rr and lsx 2.02.

I'll try your suggestion later and let you know......

Well, rolled back to 2007-09-02, tried brushed metal, no video. it just flashes a black screen (you can see it trying to start) and the slider jumps hard right and stays there when i try an Mpeg file and dvd palyback just does nothing. If i click next when I try to run a dvd file (it's on my hard drive), it will play the next chapter of the dvd but willnot start at the index.

same behaviour in the newest rr also. Does it in void, and does it in brushed metal.

Reregistered the dll's and windows codecs, I also have tried ffdshow, no dice.

I'm baffled............

Maybe I'll have a look into rr.exe and see what's there, but to be honest, that's well above my skill level unless there's something obvious.

Thanks for the suggestions...............

*********************EDIT*******************

WAHOO!

I finally got it working properly.

Audio, Video, DVD and all!

I did a clean install from the ground up on the carpc (formated hard disc, xp, drivers, latest rr and then void 3.0) and everything works after the usual config workup. The only thing that is still a little funny is it will only play a dvd from the drive and not when ripped to a folder on the hard drive. But I can sort that out later. And if I can't, I can live with it.

Not sure what fixed it overall, but good ol' windows fresh install is all I can figure. Maybe a messed up driver or corrupt dll file. Meh, whatever.

Still not workng on my laptop where I do the developement stuff, but who cares? It works on the carpc. That's all that matters..........

Now I can finally get on with installing the hardware into the car properly.

Not strictly related, but I have noticed in this update (and possibly previous ones?) I can no longer skip video - when I try it takes me to the exact frame of video and pauses. I can jump to other frames by clicking along the video slider but cannot restart the video playing?

I'm 100% sure it worked fine before!

What I mean is that, for example, when executing a !SELECT command on "FolderA", this is what RR returns in winamp.m3u.

D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder1
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder2
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder3

as opposed to this (as RR used to do before version 9-30)
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder1\song1_1.mp3
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder1\song1_2.mp3
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder1\song1_3.mp3
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder2\song2_1.mp3
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder3\song3_1.mp3
D:\Media\Music\FolderA\Folder3\song3_2.mp3

RR still works fine (like I said it's not a bug) but I have a script that sorts the song list (winamp.m3u) by date and the script doesn't work anymore because winamp.m3u doesn't contain the full file list.

guino, is there any chance you could take a look at this? Thanks.

I think i have a problem that pertains to something like this. I use the FU skin by CDRskull and have noticed this problem using the Iphone skin as well.

In the 9-30 release, i never had this problem. When i add a whole folder using "file" mode, the winamp.m3u list populates normally.

When i use the playlist mode to add songs, i notice that winamp.m3u doesn't change at all. Since this happens, whenever i hibernate after doing this, my current playlist doesn't save. When it does resume from hibernate, the first playlist i loaded using "file" mode starts playing again.

Could anyone explain why the new road runner is doing this and how i could fix it?

Audio Problem

Hello,

I am having some issue with the audio player. Since I m using LSXVoid, I first posted this pb in LSX thread, but Liquid Smoke thinks it s a RR problem:

When I open the audio button, the list is like this:
-Albums-
-Artists-
-Genre-

Albums1
Albums2
../..
This list of albums takes IDtags differently than in the -Album- view above..don t know why

1. One of the genre has more than 300 songs in it and when I click Append Selected, I got a RR error message and RR closes:
Details:
Error: Appname: RR.exe ModName: ntdll.dll; Offset: 0006112b; modver 5.1.2600.1217
Doesn t seem to do it on Genre with less songs in it.

Update: it seems that if I append any album/folder/genre that has more than X songs in it makes the same. I haven t counted til how many MP3 it can bear.

2. When I Browse DIR \/ -Albums-, select an album and click Append Selected, it doesn t add in the playlist. However,
If i click on the same button, but from the first screen I described above, it does append the album in the playlist?

Thx

I am having trouble selecting items on the ilist. It takes 2-3 clicks sometimes before the item becomes highlighted, but I have the mouse pointer enabled so I can see that it is in fact going there. Could it be mistaking a click for a drag (my hand could be moving very slightly while clicking). Maybe there is a threshold that can be set for dragging, or maybe modifying the settings of the TS drivers can allow RR to interpret the clicks more accurately. Any insight?

Also I noticed that most of the time when I close RR, winamp is still active in the background but not playing a song and not visible in the start menu (EDIT: i meant taskbar). However, if i try to load up RR afterwards, it tries to load a new instance of winamp which doesn't work, and so no music will play. I have to go into task manager and manually kill winamp.exe before restarting RR. Any idea what could be causing this?

1st: Rescan your library
2nd: Try a different skin (i.e. BMV2) -- just to TEST

Then report your findings.
