RR hanging at startup

I finally got my car PC installed today. I copied a few songs over, got RR installed and everything seemed to work just fine. After the initial test phase I copied the rest of my music over (about 3000 songs, wimpy I know) and now RR hangs when I try to start it. Hanging isn't exactly the right word, it actually just slows my machine to a crawl. So slow that it takes the task manager several minutes to come up. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Do you have all your music loaded in winamp ? did you by any chance configure anything else in the setup ? can you add debugmode=true to RR.INI and post a log so we see where it's "slowing down".. ? Even with 3000 songs it should not be that slow unless something it's trying to start is unavailable and/or malfunctioning. Check the XM/SIRIUS ports for instance.

I had a problem with extreme slowness when i had a bluetooth adaptor connected in order to get my GPS working with mappoint - the comm port kept changing and RR was trying to load it on the old port since it didnt know it had changed - this led to a seriously slow machine - unplugging the bluetooth sorted it each time.

some bluetooth adapters work better than others when they're unplugged. A few will literally halt the system for a few seconds while searching for the device (perhaps making it look frozen).

i had something similar to this happen to me when i accidentally copied over a shortcut from my music server to my carpc. when i would start rr, winamp would load and take 99% of the cpu i assume trying to locate the shortcut. once i deleted the shortcut everything worked like it should. don't know if this is what's happening to you but worth a look.
