Possible to add support for sirius internet radio?

Since mobile high speed broadband is becoming more widespread it would make sense to add it as an option in RR. I'm no programmer but I don't think it would be too difficult to implement using something like uSirius(http://www.millardsoftware.com/usirius)

Given that if you come into a low coverage area for your cell provider you'll lose sat radio, but that probably won't happen too often.

Another plus would be the sound quality would be better than from the actual sat transmission. I've read a few places that the audio streams from sirius are variable and broadcast anywhere from 25-50kbps while the internet streams @ 128kbps.

Just a thought...

Not all internet streams are 128kbps. And some channels are much higher than 50kbps while some are that low. Why do you need CD quality weather reports?!

Anyways, there is an option for windows mobile devices, but the way it is setup, you need enter one of those character pictures. And it times itself out after a while and you have to re-login.

It is pretty annoying to say the least. But it is doable.

Yes, I believe all of the talk channels are streamed @ 48kbps. And in regards to the captcha/timing out issue, if i'm not mistaken uSirius bypasses that. It is what people have been using to stream sirius to their iphone.

Basically what it does is it gives you a stream of all channels so for example the howard 100 channel would be http://192.168.x.xxx:19080/asx/asx?b...0&r=1199594576

I pretty sure it's possible to listen to an internet radio stream in RR(haven't needed it so I don't know much about it) but it would be somewhat easier if this were somehow integrated into RR such that you could enter your login details in the config and be good to go, provided you had an active internet connection.

The yahoo sirius widget has been programed so that you never need to enter the character pictures. I assume usirius does the same thing.

The 128kbps feeds cost an extra $2.99 per month. The normal internet feeds are at 32kbps.

I'm used my smart phone to listen to Sirius before in a car. It dropped signal several times over the course of a 30 minute car ride. I don't think it a particularly practical solution.

This is awesome! I am now running that plug-in at home.

No longer do I have to deal with their ****ty interface for music, or the annoying 'your stream was paused due to inactivity' message.
