media car to rr
now that i have finally made the jump to rr i can't seem to get the dvd player to work. it works on the default skin and an alpine skin i downloaded. i just tried the fsr skin from moahadib and everything works except the dvd. i have pretty much tried everything i can find to do. it did take me awhile to get it to work initially-i changed the video settings until it worked. can't get it with this skin though. any help would be appreciated!! i am using power dvd 6.

the skin may have different settings for the DVD -- I'd say post on the skin's thread along with your current settings (that workin the default skin) -- chances are you probably just need to copy the files from the skin that works (power_dvd.skin along with its jpgs) AND/OR change the button code of that specific skin to make it work with powerdvd.

Squigly lines ? are them of some color ? or you mean like the video playback is slow ? maybe PowerDVD doesn't have acceleration support for your card ? does it play "correctly" outside RR on PowerDVD ?

if only some skins are displaying this issue, this is could be a codec thing as different skins have different areas for video display and some codecs just don't like "weird" or "uneven" sizes for video display. You could follow the FFDSHOW faq to see if it helps.

guino is right about the size of the area the video embeds into. all of my .vob files do the same thing during fast paced scenes when embeded in a smaller screen. I haven't had the time to correct this issue though, I did download ffdshow, but I haven't tweaked it yet. I will post back when I get the time to fix mine (more important issues at the top of my list, ).
Edit: I just went through the settings of ffdshow just to see if anything stood out, and I tried turning on deinterlacing. my .vob files play crystal clear now. hope this help you out.

I've had the best luck with H.264/MPEG4, DVD, and other mpeg/avi's using the latest media player classic and ffdshow. If I remember correct, I had to overwrite the existing mpc ini file in the RR directory with an updated one. Also tried windvd and powerdvd.
