How do you all hook up ur system to car speakers???

system: carpc, laptop, umpc, etc....

I hook up my umpc(hardly, but with little bit of respect ^^)
to auxiliary input of my dashboard to generate the sound from my speakers... but, i am not sure if i am getting the quality i am looking for.. I am looking for good quality that can be setup rather easily..

Now, all that complicate wiring and disambleing thing is not my game as i have never done it and have no knowledge of doing it..

I am not looking to turn my car into some sorta monsterous boombox.. Just wanna get some quality sound.. auxiliary input is a way to do it? how you guys do it those of you using laptop or umpc?

Getting past the lols.

I'm outputting to a M-Audio Firewire 410 to my amps and on to the speakers. The 410 allows ASIO direct monitoring and all the lovely tuning plug ins for ASIO.

puhahah... sorry... I was hoping if there's a kit or something for plug and play... something better than what i am using... Didn't realize plug'n play thing is only valid in Mr. Gates world... Well, that's why i am a noob...

machinehead, plz educate me a little, didn't u have to disapart all the interior to hook up ur amp to the car speakers?

Yes there is some disassembly but really only the door panels and I took both front seats out at one point to install the amps. Running the wires from the speakers to the amps can be done for the most part without taking anything apart. There are plenty of seams to snake wires through on every vehicle.

I haven't built my CarPC yet but I am curently using an inline FM modulator for my XM Radio. It works really well. Since it plugs directly into the antenna jack on the radio, sending its signal directly into the radio, it overpowers any other signal comming in and sounds great! I don't know if I will stick to this solution when I install the PC but it works.

well kyle.. i did some googling on that... Sounds like it could be a good solution for guy like me.. Only negative side was that some people had to buy extra adapter to work with their antenna.. Well if you have money and willing to do some wiring then why not go for the better... I got cheap 4.3 inch umpc... but you gonna have CARPC that deserves good hardware.. ^^ I am sure you won't be disappointed..

Laptop headphone out--3 way crossover--4 channel amp/2 channel sub amp--speakers.
Sound quality is just as good or better than a normal head-unit.
