HD Radio - RoadRunner Updated .DLL

***** OLD POST ****

GO HERE

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...1-3-0-0-a.html

I have improved the hardware, and this is the updated .DLL
to use the improvement.

It will not affect any HDRadio cables that are in play now (prior to 3/7/08)

The fix, is software control of the hardware mute circuit.
This allows me to power up the tuner, without the turn on thump
now some may never hear the turn on thump, then dont do anything
if you got it, and want to have it "fixed" there is a cable mod that will need to be done.

mod options:
1. you do it, soldering required... its really easy.... details soon
2. ill do it for free... you just pay for shipping ($2.50 return ship)

Ill work on instructions for mod, tonight

my HDRadio PCR application, has already been updated...

this .dll is backwards compatable

Thanks all for your support

(in the .zip file is all the files from the HDRadio directory, only the .dll has changed)
(... dont forget "runme1st" ...)

I did the mod and got it all put back together. The driver is installed now as well as the new software. My install is still sitting on my floor so I can't test it yet. However, radio still works so at least I didn't hurt that.

Thanks for the instructions.

Serial to USB Cable

FYI

I could not get the Directed HD Radio to stay on with the latest version (1.2.0.0) of the DLL (HDRadioCOMM.dll). Kept turning the radio off with the second click when entering the skin. However, installing and registering the 1.1.0.1 version of the driver has it working perfectly.

I'm using a "Dynex" Serial to USB cable bought from Best Buy that uses the Prolific driver, version 2.0.2.1, dated 7.25.2005.

Thanks Mitch!!

there is no change in power control from 1.1.0.1 to 1.2.0.0
but it could be the dynex usb!

TEST WITH HDRADIO PCR!!!!

Please don't take my post as complaining. Even if I were to test with PCR, it doesn't change the fact that the one scenario doesn't work. I was just making a note for others who may be following in my footsteps. I'm very appreciative of what you've accomplished.

no, but if you dont test it, ill never know if i have a problem

like i said, test with hdradio pcr, hdradio pcr (if you download it today) has 1.2.0.0 built into it

i already know it works with RR, cause someone else tested it... so lets figure out whats up here...

ok, i just tested 2 skins with 1.2.0.0... works fine!

a different thought...

dumb question... since this cable serves to replace the lcd control module... and it's just rs232...

Anyone doing the reverse? Using the control module as input for carputer on a different serial port? like with girder or something like that?

sounds like a good back seat control
