So I am having a bit of trouble w/ RR's "built-in" video player...

So I installed MicroXP, which is stripped of everything possible to keep the footprint small including Windows Media Player. Got everything up and running EXCEPT built-in video.

I installed a k-lite codec pack, which was what I was using before my HD crashed. My .avi's play in MPC (the one in RR's root folder) stand alone just fine, but won't load in RR.

I also tried setting builtinvideo=false w/ the mpcpath set to MPC in RR's root folder. That works and it embeds in video_player.skin, but I lose RR native video control.

Searching around, it was mentioned in one of the posts that I have to have Windows Media Player installed to use the "built-in" function. Is this true?

I'm trying to keep my install as small as possible and to optimize boot time.

I think built in video player is based in WMP as far as i remember, might be the reason why those errors, if you dont have WMP in your OS.

Searching some more, I found a post guino stating that the built-in player uses WMP API, whatever that means...

I always thought that the built in player WAS MPC. I guess not.

Will install WMP and check back.

Thx EC.

Installed WMP9 and built-in video works.

Idk why it's going 100%CPU tho.

Never had a problem w/ it before...oh well...slowly buy surely.

Updated my video drivers and installed K-Lite codec pack and my vids are now silky smooth w/ CPU peaking at 83% holding steady at ~60% w/ IG running.

If it's not one thing, it's another...

For some reason, RR is losing focus so I can't send commands to it via KeyTBL.ini.

I have to click on "RR" to regain control using the remote.

SETTOPMOST is not working the way i thought it would and using a TIMER to ACTIVATE RR is not a solution since it tends to bring up the controls.

Anyone have any ideas on solving this issue?
