RR is acting really slow... debug.txt attached

I don't what is up here but although windows is fine.. when I run rr, there is a major lag .. the loading screen is there for like 10 seconds or so... pressing buttons takes 5 or more seconds to activate....

here's my debug.txt on two startups..

hmm.. i am no expert, but looking at the debug file, there's about 10 to 11 sec delay on "onskinstart" Open exectbl.ini from both rr and skin folder, and see what's going on in there... Are you loading something heavy on onskinstart?
check that line out, "onskinstart".... or post both files here and let the big dogs take look at them...

ok.. although i don't understand.. I have fixed the issue...

I use a holux 236 gpslim. my issue is running it all the time with usb power as it connects via bluetooth. I was getting this unknown usb device warning over and over so I disconnected the usb from the pc to the gps but my port setting was evidently still looking for the device over and over causing rr to act really slow.. as soon as I set the port to nothing, it ran smooth.
I just need to get this receiver working all the time with power because I don't wanna keep turning it off all the time....

Some bluetooth dongles/software act up like that when they can't find the device in range. Basically, when there's no data from the GPS or when RR can't open the GPS, it keeps trying every so often in the hopes it will re-connect (this is specially for usb devices that don't immediately connect after hibernation and for some GPS devices known to halt until the software disconnects/reconnects to the com port)...

yah.. i need some proprietary cable for my gps receiver.. but I think I'll just hardwire my cigarette to usb charger for my razr instead since I have a couple of them... wouldn't mind figuring out the pin out on this thing and setting it up directly to power...

thanks for the help guys..

Sure, you can either change the port setting and reload RR OR If you want a solution that doesn't involve reloading RR, all I can think of is to make 2 buttons in the skin to run DevCon to disable and enable your bluetooth dongle -- then when you turn off your GPS, push disable, and when you turn it back on, hit enable... you'll have to dig up the parameters for DEVCON to do that -- but it should already be in your RR folder.

seems like more than I want to do... :-(

I think I'll just leave it on 24-7 in the trunk using my car charger... doubt leaving my gps receiver on all the time will shorten it's life that much will it?
