Getting an error when trying to open rr for the first time
I have just downloaded RR, installed it and when I try to open the RR Config.exe I get an error that says " Line-1,(next line) Error: Unable to execute the external program (next line) The system cannot find the file specified."
Anyone know what this error means and how to get rid of it?

Same here ,I downloaded from all mirrors installed ,uninstalled, reinstalled each one I downloaded . I installed RR and DigitalFX 3.0 six times on 6 different pcs and never had this happen before .And it seems there is a problem somewhere. maybe because I'm installing this on Vista this time and not XP ? Who knows never get a real answer on this site. It's just one big circle jerk here. .........good luck.

Maybe it is not Vista comp. B/c I am trying to install on 32-bit Vista too. I didn't read anything about not being Vista comp. did you?

You certainly are not speaking from experience 'cause you are being helped! of course, you can always go away. Don't bite the hand that feeds you..
For the OP, I'm just guessing but make sure the RR files are in a folder called "Road Runner" not "RoadRunner"
The config is looking for a file it can't find; i would guess Roadrunner.exe or rr.ini

So do I need to download the rr.ini file? If it does not come in the installer package, where can I find it?

I don't understand, I have installed RR on my work computer which is running XP, copied the RR package and tried installing on the Vista running Carputer (same way has I did on the XP Computer) and when I open the config.exe, I get the error I stated above. When I try to open the RR.exe, the error I get is "C:\Program Files\Road Runner\Skins\Alpine does not contain a valid skin! Check your settings and try again", I understand what the error is saying but I can't change anything b/c I can't get the config.exe to open. Is there something special I have to do for Vista installation. I have read around and couldn't find anything. Has anyone seen this and have a fix for it.

OK i can open the config.exe now. I have changed the skins to BMW(default) but now I get this error when opening rr.exe, " Error:372, Failed to load control 'flash' from. Your version of may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application". Ok i have no idea what that means. I just downloaded the RR package today from the Sticky in the main page so I don't have a old version. Anyone know what this error is about and how to fix it?

Done that, I now get this error " Run-time error '75': Path/File access error" when trying to open the config.exe. After clicking OK, it opens the config.exe and I can change stuff around. After saving changes and setting the skins to BMV2. I try and open the RR.exe and get the error that state "C:\Program Files\Road Runner\SKINS\ Alpine does not contain a valid skin! Check you settings and try again." Well the Config setting is set to BMV2 so I don't know where Alpine is coming from. Any idea of what is going on and how fix it?

i heard people having all sort of problem using rr with vista... why not run xp, saves you trouble now and later... those file access problem seems alot to do with the way vista works... I was thinking about vista too,but what's the point if i am gonna run rr most of the time... This is not a solution but, i strongly suggest you do this with xp like creator recommended.. You might encounter more problems later and evetually fed up with it...
ini is in the road runner root directory where it was installed...
rr.ini
