CDs and RR

Is it possible to play a CD directly from RR without ripping the music first? Also, why does the Rip button not work for me at all. I'm using the BMv2 skin, if that's needed.

Need to setup the CDRIP plugin to use the "RIP" button.

For autoplaying CDs, you have two options:

JohnWPB's plugin or chevyn8 plugin.

Ok, after looking at both of those plugins I'm beginning to feel dumb. I'm realizing I'm almost computer illiterate. Hell, the only reason I have a frontend is because RR now has an installer. I guess I'll stick to WMP for CDs. I can't seem to make sense out of anything that anyone is talking about on either thread.

Might want to try out DFX skin as autoplay CDs feature is integrated into the skin.

I'm just too happy with my current skin to change it. Maybe I'll give it a try on my laptop one of these days that I'm bored.

to play a CD without ripping it:

navigate to the CD either: 1) using browse\back buttons; OR 2) use a setpath command to set the directory list to the D or E drive (or whatever drive is your CD drive) and use ADD1 to add the songs into a playlist

I'm guessing you mean, while browsing my music. It doesn't seem to let me go any further back than the folder that the music is stored in, which is "My Music".

RRConfig

General --> page2

Uncheck -- limit browser path from backing out of music, video folder

You may also have to uncheck hide '..' on page1 of the general section as well.
