SOB.........can't get RR to not show up as a trojan.......

Yeah I know, it's been brought up before........

I can't get my antivirus solutions to stop recognizing the DL on guino's site as a generic trojan/worm.

I've tried AVG and avast, but both refuse to allow me to use it by denying access or simply deleting it...

Any ideas?

Dont use AVG or Avast?

Just set the folder where you download it to to not be monitored

Thanks, but I've tried that.

I have Avg Full version and it still picks it up. So I Dl'd Avast free and same thing happens even withthe folder excluded.

I've tried downloding a fresh binary a couple times off guino's site, same problems.

I'm stumped.....

GreatWhite..you're having a blond moment..TURN AVG OFF; download (since you know it's a trusted site) to your excluded path; turn AVG back on!

just gotta wait til they fix the scripts on the roadrunner.exe, this has happened b4 a couple years ago, think back in 2005 just search roadrunner virus.

either use an older version of rr, or uninstall all antivirus on ur pc.

You would think..............but I've tried that also. Both the AV's will wipe the exe everytime once restarted and before I get a chance to edfine an exclusion.............

Which is really bizarre becuase it's been working fine for months and then a couple days ago the AV decideded I didn't really want to use it anymore..............

Can't be a vista issue, can it?

Still digging..................

*edit*

Got it fixed. Thanks all.

If I started Avast but turned off resident protection quickly, I was able to enter the exclusion an then restart Avast.

It would no longer delete the exe then.

I guess it was just too fast (if left enabled) at finding the directory for me to enter the exclusion in time.

Worked for me anyways.

Just have to figure out my AVG full version now.

There was probably an update to avg that nuked my original RR.exe. Which would explain why it was working fine one day and toasted teh next.........

*Edit*

Scratch that. It's gone back to nuking the RR.exe again!

Gotta Have the AV completely off in orde to run RR

Why do you have AV installed on a carpc anyway? Unless you are always going to be online downloading files, there really isnt a reason to have it. Better off just getting a nice firewall.

Maybe you need an uncompressed version of RR. It could be that RR probably have virus in there (doubtful but possible).
Do a search for RR CDC, that I released as beta a while back and see if that also see as having virus.
