I've got the slider code figured out, in a roundabout way, but it would be nice to have an indicator for the BATTSTATE code so that I can have a little lightning bolt show up when the adapter is plugged in, and go away when it's not.

Good idea - will add that to the plugin in the next day or so.
Have you got an example lightning bolt image I can include with the plugin?

i just use the ipod video graphics:



but i am going to use my custom font with a byind command...
