Maybe I am not getting my issue across to you guys, so the problem is I only have 1 audio output and a MIC input on my MB. The UAS could be my only means of adding 1+ Audio input.

Basic diagram of what I need to do

HQCT-->M/B-->AMPS ; FrontEnd-MUSIC/etc-->M/B-->AMPS ; NAV-->M/B-->AMPS (eveything works except HQCT)(WHY, because I have no input to feed this it the mainboard and get this out to the AMPS

The only input (MIC input) is used for a mic for handsfree via bluethooth for mobile, I could possibly change the I/O operation and use the mic in for audio in, but that would give me mono and no handsfree for phone.

I currently run 2 seperate amps which I'm connecting to the audio out of the MB [a 4 ch amp & a 2 ch amp bridged for sub].

The HQCT was an overkill but (I was under the impression it would stream the audio via the USB and output this to the audio jack) so I'm stuck with it and at present we dont have HD radio (think it's on trial) but because I listen to Am fequency I would like to keep this option, also when there is an emergency in tunnels, there is an announcement heard over the radio, so it's a must have for now.

I do have a SPDIF (which I dont think I can get a digital signal from the HQCT)??so at present I'm not using this, unless there is a way to feed the HQCT into the SPDIF and output this to the audio jack output of the MB.

My other idea was to change the audio output to an input and use a optical to coaxial (DAC) and get my audio out that way but I've yet to find a EQ with optical in..

HiJack it maybe is a good invention, but I want an automated solution, not pushing buttons to get audio from the correct device so this is why I ask the questions and dont want to add $$$ to this project if I can avoid it.

Since the whole thing is out of the car for a refresh I wanted to resolve my audio dilemma. *pokes Hijack in his evil eye*

This product may or not be right for me, but please feel free to point me in the right direction for a solution.

Cheers

Why don't you use the CD In for the HQCT. Most motherboards have that plug for the cd player.

Yes, which is what I dont have, so the next option is to use the HQCT as the input.

Plug UAS into AUX input of the HQCT and have the HQCT locked onto aux for sound and then take the HQCT 4 channel output and feed this onto my 4 channel amp?

I assume this is my only option so I am not sure if this will work, but I need code then for the HQCT to stay on AUX when not in radio mode, and then switch to radio when this is in use?

Am I making sense?

Thanks for the link...if I only could find this amp Performance Teknique ICBM-5.1 Dolby Digital Amplifier, optical and coaxial inputs!

I don't think it's that messy mitch

AUDIO OUT FROM MB into AUX on HQCT from HQCT to AMPS. saves me adding in another USB device (since I have none left - unless i get a hub).

I've written to Datalex who have provided an application that starts the HQCT into AUX, what I haven't done is work out how to get this working properly and have it switch from aux to radio and when radio closes go back to aux.

I realise this isnt the appropriate thread for this dicussion, maybe I'll make a new one in the audio section

I think this my solution would be the best option i have without additional hardware, unless i change MB which crossed my mind to a dual atom 330 board for zotac
