Motion Lock option in new RR release ??
Hi Guino,
I say you again that i love your work and also the work that any guy who work for RR .
I had tried to use the AsRR plugin and the MotionLock plugin .
When I use it , i have no lock .
I think, that is it very important to add this possibility in the new realease of RR with
a possibility to setup it in RRconfig .
Features:
Status=On/Off
Active on Screen=video_player.skin,video_browser.skin,etc...
GPS=-1(speed>0) or specific speed
Units=Miles/h or Km/h
WarningScreen=warning.skin
I don't know if is it a good option to add directely in RR or to stay with plugin.
But, actualy , I have no possibility to stop a video when the car is in motion.
Thanks again

The AsRR and Motionlock plugins should probably not be used at the same time. The AsRR plugin uses a hardware switch to lock the software, the MotionLock plugin works by the GPS information. They should both work on the newest version.
The problem is likely an issue with configuration -- you MUST have the required skin files inside the skin you're using and have the plugin configured correctly so it knows that you're on a screen that is not allowed while in motion.
If you tell us which skin you're using and make a Debug log going into the video player in RR, we can try to help you with this.

How about the stop button?
I find this topic ironic, as I get paid well to disable this sort of feature on OEM vehicle systems. Many manufactures seem to like using the gear selector position to trigger a lockout. Just a thought to start building on if you really want this sort of feature on your custom system.

In France, the motion lock is obligatory . I know, my question is very fun , but i think that is
a feature to have in a professional frontend compatible with any world low .
For now, as soon as possible , it test the last RR version

A professional system would use a hardware switch, ie handbrake, gear position or information direct from OBDII or the speedometer before software GPS.
But that would also need professional installation.

What is this? The new version locks the screen when driving? Am I missing something?

im not sure either, but it seems like its a feature that wont allow you to push buttons while the car is moving.
nice idea i guess.... i figure myself ill just wait until they make new laws that force us to do such thing. for now, i like the little freedom i still have left.

Wow, I sure would never want the GPS screen to be locked while driving. It seems to defeat the purpose of using GPS at all. Are you wanting to only be able to go to the GPS screen while you are parked?

I wonder if the issue you are having is due to the comma system that is used in Europe being different to that in the US and UK.
The same cause which causing issues with TC and Caburant.

Try switching to US or UK regional settings as a test
Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Regional Options.
Drop down menu select English US or English UK
Apply
And then test Motion Lock. (and TC and Caraburant if want)

Ok,
I had changed my option language with English US AND.
It's ok for Carburant for the GPS's option but if i change the zip code , i have just the top left picture who change and never the other .
For the motion lock , i try the dll in the thread #50 , motionlock_debug_dll.zip i have always the same problem .
See my debug file

In the US is is illegal for the driver to be able to motion video in a car while it is moving. That is why most mini-vans have the screen right behind the driver, so the kids can still watch a DVD while the parents drive down the road. Making everyone happy, well until you've sat through the same cartoon 500+ times..... Unless he is talking about something more restrictive than that in Europe, that is a US law also.
