yeah, i am having unicode issue as well... minor though compare to what i had to deal with.. hopefully, next release take care of it. U use foobar2000? i can't never get it to work for some reason.. maybe i should try now since i got a major problem out of the way..

the foobar plugin is included in installer, using another one, might be going backwards

brandensin, vinchan, i think you guys are both dealing with chineese unicode....
best bet is to deal with Guino, but, not just say unicode problem remains...
get a mp3 file to G, maybe a screen shot
i tried a chineese mp file, looks fine to me, but i can never be sure
with any unicode... since i NEVER really have to deal with unicode in USA
some things i didnt know...
UNICODE is only supported in ID3v2, NOT in ID3v1

it doesnt have to be mp3art
it could be any plugin that touches albumart
i have seen a plugin try to use albumart, when it shouldnt too!!!

yeah.. guino has sample songs.. So, all i have to do to use foobar is to install foobar2000 and COM SERVER and set the player to foobar(auto) in config? Is that it? Is foobar native just like winamp?

sounds right..... i did only try foobar2000 once way, back when G 1st did the module...
native is a loose term here, but RR directly controls it via the com interface
ONLY use the foobar add on in the installer, i cannot say if the one in the post in the forum is up to date!!!
the one in the installer has the unicode support

Does it do it on the same screen, all, random. Could be something you have defined on a screen thats missing from objects.txt? I'm not sure, does it say do the same with the default skin(carwings dyno lite)?
Trying to narrow down if its skin related or app related.

I have tried it with carwings lite and carwings full and I still get the same results. I believe it may be the application itself causing the problem.

I tried it.. didn't work.. i select the songs from an album.. it didn't load up into a playlist.. i minimized RR to check the foobar, its playlist is emty as well.. Tried it both auto and manual.
i am gonna run debug to see what's going on.. I'll post it here..

but i noticed foobar2000 was launched every time i started RR, so that warning doesn't make sense. Am i suppose to use a different set of commands that i used to control winamp?

No. I recently DL'd the very latest foobar2000 v0.9.6.9 and tested the it against the 10/1/09 RR release and had no issues. I even installed foobar2000 right in RR's folder. I think that the issues has to do with the COM server part of foobar. Did a clean install of RR, installed foobar v0.9.6.9, and the COM Server from site listed in docs. Ran RRConfig and set the player to foobarRR (manaul) and its path.
