GoogleTraffic & Microsoft Virtual Earth
Ok,
With the help and the authorization of JohnWPB , I create this Google Applications.
- Google Traffic (use Wifi and Gps)
- Virtual Earth (use Wifi and Gps)
The screens are embbeded for the Carwings_Dynamic_lite .
Google Traffic

Microsoft Virtual Earth:
A known bug :
Gps coordinates are well read if your 'regional options' of your computer are define in 'english us or uk' . ( If somebody has a solution !!!)
In the setting.ini file you can to oblige to read the data latitude and longitude:
[Google Maps]
WindowsName=GoogleTraffic
ForceSettings=no (no, RR's gps data read ;yes, settings Lon and Lat used)
Lon=24.3676
Lat=55.7271
ZoomLevel=5
Unzip the zip file under your skin Carwings_Dynamic :
Ex:
C:\Program Files\Ride Runner\SkinName\ Scripts\GoogleTraffic\GoogleTraffic.exe
and
C:\Program Files\Ride Runner\SkinName\ Scripts\VirtualEarth\VirtualEarth.exe
The raison is that the programs read the general.ini's skin file who are two folder berfore (..\..\general.ini)
But if you don't like that , I can add in the settings.ini file a width and height option .
Copy all skins files who are in the skin folder (under GoogleTraffic folder and VirtualEarth folder) in your Carwings skin folder .
For the Fun, In Google Traffic, push on the little yellow man and drag move it when your where ... Surprise !!!!
This is the StreetView function !
And if you push on your mouse's right button , you can to define a track (from --> to):

V0.9
800x600 and 800x480 compatible and faster.
You can erase all gt*.exe files !
V0.6
Add Buttons for best GoogleTraffic screen's use .
V0.5
Detect automatically vista/xp Os and your resolution (800x600 or 800x480 only)
V0.4
Posting difference between XP and Vista knowned .
Greats thanks to JohnWPB who have created these little applications for his DFX4 skin .

Okay, I manage to embed GTraffic, but RR does not start the googletraffic.exe. If I do it manually, then launch RR, when I click on the button, I can see the map, if I don't do that, just a black screen.
Also, it does not save zoom settings? Is it possible to add a big + and - buttons on top of the map?

I have forgotten something .
add this command in your button exectbl.ini file :
"load;rrtraffic.skin||RUN;$SKINPATH$\Scripts\Googl eTraffic\GoogleTraffic.exe;GoogleTraffic" .
The two exe must to be in a path like that:
C:\Program Files\Ride Runner\SkinName\ Scripts\GoogleTraffic\GoogleTraffic.exe
and
C:\Program Files\Ride Runner\SkinName\Scripts\ VirtualEarth\VirtualEarth.exe
In Fact , the programs read the ..\..\general.ini file .
I update the First post !!!

The exectbl line I had already added, it's in the add to exectbl file.
I had it unzipped to the carwings folder, so in the end I made it work, but I had to unzip the contents to all possible folders. Only extracting the zip to the carwings folder won't work. Also it won't work to extract it to the Scripts/GoogleTraffic folder.
If you extract it to all combinations, it will work (but you'll get 4 copies of each file everwhere), so I haven't figure out what goes where yet.
So far:
To the Scripts/GoogleTraffic: the TWO executables and the settings.ini
To the Scripts/GoogleTraffic/Skin: the pictures under the skin folder, but not rtraffic.skin (although it's there in the zipped skin folder)
To the carwings main folder: all the rest (google icon, etc), and copy the rtraffic.skin too.
But don't go by me yet, I embed the browser this way.
I'll get there later today, hopefully!

Okay, there is a small bug: if the browser window is open, of if it has been recently opened, it will embed the last page viewed, and not google traffic page. If you wait a while after closing the browser, it will work, crazy, but that's what's happening here.
Also, you don't need the skin folder under googletraffic, you can get away by just copying it to the main carwings folder.
I would also recommended zoom=12 (in the settings.ini under scripts/googletraffic folder as more useful for those installing the app now.

It is not a bug.
RR embbed any program who speal about the same name that you want to embbed .
So, when you run RR, you must to shutdown all program like explorer or other , and RR embbed well the good program , GoogleTraffic.

Effectively , the skin folder under GoogleTraffic or VirtualEarth is not necessary . Afer to have copy all skin files in your skin Carwings folder , you can delete them.

You can to change this setting in the setting.ini file:
change 'ZoomLevel=5' by 'ZoomLevel=12'.
Thanks for this feed back .

If I touch the same spot for 2/3s, it's a right click button (I use touchkit software that came with my Xenarc). I just went to the car and tested it on Google Traffic, it works (direction to here/from here menu opens). I Forgot to test if right click dragging works...

Hi
I'm glad you appreciate feedback, I have some more for you!
Well, the Microsoft Virtual Earth thing displays a colorful Google logo on the title bar. You might want to change that. Also, MS the vertical menu bar on left side of the blue menu overlayed on the map does not show, just the horizontal part, as you can see below:
Lastly, I still having trouble embedding Google Traffic maps. Even after I close the browser, it opens it again with the last opened pages. I'm using Firefox 3.5 (on Win7) with save on exit setting, maybe this is it?
When it does work after a couple of tries (not sure I can reproduce the sequence, FF must be closed, but sometimes I have to exit RR and come back, open some things, etc.), It shows a white space on the left side like shown below.
Thanks again for your hard work.
RH

Ok, it is fixed.

I am sorry but i have not Win7 and can't test taht, but i think that is not a Firefox problem because GoogleTraffic is embedded in a IE window not firefox .

May be a RR crash ? Verify that in the task manager you have not a RideRunner process , if yes , kill it and reload RR and GoogleTraffic
Thanks again for your hard work.
