Why have you switched to Road Runner?
Why have you switched to Road Runner? I am curious because I see references to other front ends like, I like the search in frodoplayer or I would switch if Road Runner had an integrated internet browser feature like centrafuse. If you like those other front end why switch?
I don't consider myself as having switched because I never stopped using MediaCar and guino is just continuing this great program. What I always liked about MediaCar was its simplicity and that's why I am using Road Runner.

I personally use RR, because I used media car for the longest time and I needed a few features added to make it the way I wanted it. when RR was introduced these functions were added, so I made the switch.

I too always used MediaCar.. until I got RR to do what I wanted it to.. I do have other stuff in the Car: Frodo, MediaEngine etc.. but I have them configured and hardly ever use them.

just another thought - re: comments about speed with flash integration and id3 db search, now the app is getting stable and more awesome than ever..
how about a 'lite' version that only includes bug updates, skin commands etc, but no flash or processor intensive stuff?
maybe a dumb idea but could be a help to those with slower machines who want to keep up to date without the flashy bits?

I'm going to made more performance improvements soon.. one of them being with flash objects.. I can understand the concern with Flash objects slowing down the machine.. but as long as you don't use flash in your skins, you will not suffer any slow down because of it..

I think many peoples answer to this will be the Media Car revival. There were always threads on the MC section of this board asking if there was a way to get the source code. It was really only a matter of time before somebody braved the task of recreating it.
Guino has made this application far more flexible now. This has really opened up many possibilities.
In version 1 of my carpc I was using MC. Since then, MC has been a dead stick and I was looking into FrodoPlayer. But I think I'm going to go with RR now just because that's what I'm used to.

Why have I switched to Road Runner?
I was looking for a frontend for my CarPC but could not find one of my liking, that is before I saw the potential of RR!
Even I could make my own skin-adjustments and make it do what I want and like.
Its very fast, highly adjustable, already proven to be reliable. (Altough still improvements are made almost daily)
I'm learning every day, maybe even take the challenge to dive into VB... the code is already there for everyone to look into, its Open Source.
Read the postings made by the forummembers and be honest, Guino and his fellow RR-developers are just GREAT!
Thanks guys,
Frank

That, and :
1. Speed
2. EQ
3. Ability to have gapless playback(1 sec pause in dance music just doesn't work!)
4. Alpine Skins...The Best! (just need to wait 4 guino to slow down before we get more complete updated skins...

I didn't want to say anything and have Guino think he should stop working on this. But, that's exactly the reason I haven't put it in the car... he improves it faster then I can install it. :P
