Lightbulb sync files

after trying frodo player i found it's sync function very useful. fortunately frodo was kind enough to mention the sync-tool inventor's name so i did a quick for "karen ware" and found Replicator to be what he implemented.
i downloaded it, installed it on my carpc and created a sync profile called "mp3"
i then made a new folder in my lounch folder and put a ini file in there containing the folowing:
[GENERAL]
PATH = C:\Program Files\Karens Replicator\PTReplicator.exe "mp3
TryEmbeddedTimeOut = 5
WindowSearchString= Replicator

note that i did remove the ' in the directory name in order to save myself some troubles, but i guess it also works with the original directory name. and also note that i put only one " infront of the parameter.. i don't know why i have to do it like this, but it seems like this is the way to pass parameters to applications.

now in roadrunner, when i open applications i see an entry called "sync" and as soon as lounch it, it starts syncing my mp3's from my fileserver at home.

so before people start putting this feature on the feature request list, consider this as an easy solution

PS: the whole VB source code is available for download too so i guess it could also easily be added to Road Runner but i don't really think this is needed..

cheers
pascal

The correct way to pass paramenters is using a pipe (|):
PATH = C:\Program Files\Karens Replicator\PTReplicator.exe|mp3

The space and Quote also works because of the way windows handles execution commands, although the correct way of doing it would be:

PATH = C:\Program Files\Karens Replicator\PTReplicator.exe" "mp3

I'm assuming this sync is to transfer files between an external device and the PC, because RR doesn't require syncing for Tags..

exactually. it simply copies all files from a source to a destination and you can select if it shoud:
- always overwrite the files in the destination folder if they already exist
- only replace them if those in the source are newer
- erase files which aren't present in the source anymore
and some more

so it allowes you to either use it to copy a cd full of mp3's to your mp3 directory on your carpc harddirve or it allowes you to do what i do: to sync changes from your home fileserver with your carpc.

yea, that was one of the features of frodoplayer that I liked...I too, have used just the replicator to sync files(just didn't like FP). There are a few cool utils on that site. The countdown timer II is cool too....
