XM Radio

Opps posted this accidently in the SKins.

Hey just snagged the new RR and have to say I like it. I liked Media Car. Will there be XM radio support for Frodplayer? Also I noticed that some of the text is overlayed, and on the Media Car I did not have any issues. Is there something I need to do in one of the .ini files?

no... that was a bug in the latest version.. I hope to have fixed it, please re-download.

Regarding XM, as long as frodoXM can be embbeded, you should be able to embed it in RR.

did you figure out how to embed the FrodoXMSatelite Radio ??? If so, is it capable of resuming after hibernation.

Also, how do you embed programs in RR??? i want to set up Frodo Satalite X and IGuidance.

I'm yet to try the XM thingy out..

To embbed an application you simply need its window name or class name:

For "discovering" window information, you can use a very nice simple application called Winspecttor Spy..
http://www.windows-spy.com/download/

You can find the information you need by doing this:
-Install Winspector
-Run your application and make sure the window you want to embedd is visible
-Run Winspector
-Drag the red target circle (top-left) onto the WINDOW TITLE of the window you want to enbedd -- you should see a red line around the entire window.
-Now the window information is highlighted on the list of the left side of Winspector.
-Right-Click on the highlighted item and hit "Properties.." a new window comes up
-The information you need is in the two first lines of the properties window (class name and window title).

You can try to use the second line info (Title) or the first line with a '!' in front (to denote it's a class name) as the GPS Name in RRConfig. Examples would be (for the window search setting of INI):

!CabinetWClass (by window class name)
My Documents (by window title)

You can also specify Both information (for a more precise search):

!CabinetWClass!My Documents

The latest RR binary packages and install have examples of Launch folder and ini files you can use as base for adding other applications.

quino,

Hey thanks for the info I am going to give it a shot and see what happens. ALso I did not see no links on your site for all the logos. I am looking for a Dodge Ram (like the one they had for media player). Again thanks and keep up the great work.

Why don't you just use that one?

that was built in, I have not just seen the logo, but than again, I am venturing in something new, I have not messed with skinning. Hopefully this weekend have some time to mess with it.. Eventually I want to make a flashy front end, using flash. I have a friend that is trying that out as we speak.

If you download the full Brushmetal skin it has a logos folder with a bunch of logos in it.. there's also a thread called "some spinning logos I made" with attachments for all logos (requres some searching)..

Quino,

Do you not have XM Direct? I would be willing to donate ya one if you need one. They are only 50 bucks and you have definatley put more than 50 bucks into your development. So let me know.

I don't have the XM Direct thingy ... mainly because of monthly fees.. but if I find enough info on programming codes to control it, I woudn't mind paying the fees, etc to get it working natively in RR...

O.K. I've created my own XM jpgs and ini to embed XtreMePCR, loaded a button on the main menu, and now I need to know how to get it to work in RR.

gizmoQ> Let me know how you make out, I like Frodo's XM sat however it doesnt support the audigy nxz2 too well. I was told that only 2 front speakers and the sub. That is all that is working for me on it. So hopeing that Quino comes up with something or that your soltuion works. I have not checked out the ExtremeXMPCR that your talking about.

Good Luck.

If you follow this post:

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...02&postcount=5

You should find the window name and class name for the frodoxm..

To run it from RR you can create/copy a skin file (i.e. EXTERNAL_GPS.SKIN) as a new .skin file (i.e. frodoxm.skin).. To call it from a button you'd use a button definition such as:

B01,100,100,080,080,"LOAD;FRODOXM.SKIN;XM Radio;c:\frodoxm\frodoxm.exe;!TApplication!FrodoXM ",""

TApplication and FrodoXM are the Window CLASS name and Window Title respectively you'll find with Winspector Spy... the info before it is the path and file name to execute, the stuff before is the skin file to use and the "speak text"... I haven't had time yet to download and test FrodoXM myself.. let me know if you can't figure it out..
