Winamp has a lot of internet radio/tv feeds for itself (open the media library and see for yourself).. regarding WMP feeds, I don't even know which type of feed you're talking about, maybe it would help to post the an address as example..

Just thinking purley audio. JFI I had a play with some feeds ( http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/ ) - Winamp does not like to play MS ASF feeds nor Real Audio RAM feeds... so I'm thinking up a concept / application flow to do this.
Why... well yes Winamp does shout cast and a load of others ( and I will upload the Xbox Pyton script and graphics later for you ) but most radio stations use either WMP or RA formats ( I think some do Quicktime ). I plan to have a look see and find out what WMP can do ( ie RA feeds etc ) and report back here.
My thery round this ( and it could be a seprate embeded app ) is that those that a) dont have a radio but do have a net connection and b) those in other contries that want to listen to a feed can.... ie some one in the US can listen to BBC Radio one in the UK.
Also having looked XM also do feeds as well. So if you have an unlimted data contract and either 3G or EDGE you can have radio...
Winamp can do both RA and Q.T. ... just download the appropriate DShow filters on my links page. FYI the original RA and Q.T. STINK -- IMHO, their software is worse than most viruses.
The idea is good (sharing feeds), but you'd need enough people with high upload bandwidth to share a few good feeds at once.. XM in the other hand offers unlimited acess to most of their channels online for any subscriber -- probably is pulling up their daa feed directly into a streaming server...

I stand corrected... need to find one for WMP now Thanks
EDIT again - I've attached as promised the Xbox Shoutcast script ( Will have to split.... this is what I was thinking right at the begining of this in terms of a touch interface around this lot. Having read what you posted and read ( well so far ) what I can on Winamp.com it looks like the lot will basically run all the streams I talked about.
Now I relise its not the same quality... its more an option.. ( and as normal some thing to talk about )
T
Text From Winamp re MS stuff... you need an extra plugin... not just a codec..
Quote:
Winamp already supports mms:// WMA streams by default, as long as you've got the Full version, not Lite.
Copy & paste this into Winamp's Open/Add url box
mms://live.interoutemediaservices.com/vibe105/.wma ( to test )
The plugin adds direct support for asx, wpl, wax, wmx, wvx, mms:// playlists/streams, and you can also then make Winamp the default handler of those types via:
Winamp > Prefs (Ctrl+P) > File Types.
Naturally, it also depends on what version of Windows Media Player is installed and whether you've got all the correct WMA codecs installed....
Note that the Tara plugin will only work if the Real Codecs/Engine is installed. We don't recommend installing the evil RealPlayer, but you can install RealAlternative to get the required codecs instead: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...lternative.htm
