Road Runner GML file on girder problem?
hi all, i am trying to use girder on my creative infra remote for road runner. latest road runner has a gml file that you can use. it works the first time i configure rr.gml, save it and close. when i open girder again, and try to load the rr.gml the second time, it says "failed to open data file", what is wrong? is it girder? i reinstalled and made a copy of the gml before i started editing it. same thing happened. but i use the fresh copy of the rr.gml, it opens it and you can edit it. once you save and close and try to reopen, it gives me the error. anybody experienced this before? help what do i do next?

sounds like a girder issue all right.. what version is this ?? The one I had worked fine (in the trial period), but the GML always had to be manually loaded to work (I guess because it was a trial version) -- I might buy a girder license just to continue testing with it, although I personally don't use it.. :/

hey guino, thanks for the reply, first of all your software rocks man, i tried all of the frontends and decided yours is the way to go. keep it up!!! ok now back to the problem, the version is 3.3, i am wondering what is wrong with that software? if you dont use it, what do you use to control road runner via remote then? i am using the creative infra remote, serial connection. i mean if there is a better way to use my remote with a different program then i will do that. any suggestions or links? thanks again.

not really.. I don't really use remote or voice in my car.. just touchscreen.. I only allowed support for those things because I know people do like to use it.. If I were you, I'd try a different version of Girder just to see.. it really seems like saving your file is what's causing all the problem there.. I don't know of any other software that can work with RR, but I do know it would be very easy to make a simple serial listener for IR that would send commands to RR when receiving codes from the IR.. IRMan works like that too so the same app could be used for the same end..

irman, havent used that yet, i will check it out, thanks. i just thought of another question, how can i tell phonecontrol to also exit when i press the exit button on roadrunner? also one issue i have with road runner is when i press the button to shutdown, it just hangs the whole system, it doesnt shut down at all, so what i do is just close road runner and then shut down the computer manually. what settings should i tweak? i am using an opus 90w and my time delay is 20minutes(although it seems like 10 minutes to me), if i click on hibernate, will it still shut down the machine after 20 minutes or will it just hibernate all the way? thanks

Wich OS do you use ? Shut down works as far as I can tell.. hibernate goes straight in to hibernate.. there's no standby time involved -- but you must have ebabled hibernate support in windows or it is likely it will just stand by...
