Arrow RR 03-19-05 .. Web Browser ..

March 19th, 2005:

* Added support for Switching-Merging labels on Skins
* Added Support to simulate button down/up events from Flash
* Added Support for Flash/SDK to seek to song/video position
* Added OSK search support for Playlist and Folder's current list
* Added Web Browsing support (FireFox and I.E.)
* Fixed Minus1 List Update Bug
* Added Error/Freeze Preventions

Basically some new skin features and a few fixes..

Oh yeah, the Web Browser support.. Please download the BrushMetal Skin Update.. You will need to create a button with the "WEB" code wherever you wish to pull up the web browser. It uses the (imcomplete) skins made by RoyN, but it can most definitely be redesigned. You also need to set which browser to use and it's path in RRConfig (I recommend FireFox). You can pull up the OSK by clicking the RR Logo, this allows you to type stuff wherever you have the cursor at the page.

I've started work on MapPoint support due to a generous donation towards that. I will probably not make any major updates until I'm done with that.

Let me know, of any major bugs (I can definitely fix stuff while developing MapPoint support)...
Guino.

how do I implement the searchlist function? I put the following line in the "audio_Player.skin"

B21.560,130,100,70,"SEARCHLIST",""

but when I click in that area of my skin nothing happens.

wow... nice update guino! i have a question about all these new features being implemented. How can we access all these functions if we dont have the proper skins to actually use them? It seems as though we need some major re-sknning done if anyone is up for the task. I would love to use the Search function i just have no clue how to implement that in the current skin. (as well as integrated we browser)
thanks again and keep up the great work!

Yeah, I made it
I have downloaded a defect zip file and first I didn't recognized it by extracting. Downloaded it again and now all is working perfect.
Perhaps one advantage of the search function were if you can receive more results or you could search further if the "wrong" mp3 gets selected.
Only one question Guino: Is Searching through all mp3s on hdd is too difficult?
But very good work

does anyone know how to modify the osk skin so that it does not cover the entire screen? i'm trying to make it just slightly shorter and start it at x=0, y = 100. aslo, the osk does not work with iguidance/routis. the osk works fine with notepad and the windows calculator. with ie explorer or explorer only the last character entered in the osk gets passed. is it possible that because iguidance uses separate windows when you go to the address input menu, the osk does not pass values to that window? i assumed that the osk would work with the last active window.

If you don't have the BrushMetal Skin update, that's exactly what happens.. It can't find the wbrowser.skin so it doesn't open it.

Search for all files is planned. You can continue searching the playlist by pressing searchlist again and entering what to search.. I may prevent it from clearing the last search text.. but the search starts at the CURRENT selected item and ends at the end of the list.. so you can keep on searching..

if you have keyboard access you can make a keyboard shortcut to call them (I made CTRL+F call the search list for instance.. you can also simple type out the commands on the skins "WEB" or "SEARCHLIST" (INCLUDING quotes).

The other way I find most interesting is to create "fake buttons" on empty areas of the screen -- just use the same old button definition in an empty area, clicking there will execute your command -- you just won't see any fancy button highlighting or being pressed. Some people make hidden buttons on purpose to "hide" some features...

Edit your menu.skin file, where you find B....."TV" change it to "WEB" instead. -- You do need to update your brushmetal skin and setup your browser settings in RRConfig before it will work.

Something like this?
B14,010,415,135,110,"WEB","Tv"
but it didn't work. I've tried to change the Tv to Web and wbrowser but, I can't get nothing of it to work.
