Application Embedding

I tried to make a button on the menu.skin embed an application but only half the times it would work properly.. Sometimes RR minimizes!! It is like something happening with the timers maybe?

I finally enabled embed support in base plugin but still the same thing!

please post the button commands you're using. Then I can try to help.

@DJBac

If you're tryihng to embed your plugin, you MUST use the PLUGIN Command and NOT the load OR run commands.

I am trying to embed an application in RR.. I also tried to embed the same app in my plugin!!

Here is the button command
B01,142,258,066,084,"LOAD;ACCEL.SKIN;accelarometer ;D:\Base Plugin\accelerometer.exe;accelerometer"

I have set in the accel.skin where it should embed... It embeds fine but not always!

what happens when it doesn't embed ? does this application, by any chance, change the window title depending on what you open/run ? I can only assume it's something with the window title you're using..

Also, I see you're running this "application" from your base plugin folder -- if this is a plugin, you MUST use the "PLUGIN" Command (as I said before).

The application I am trying to embed in the plugin is not another plugin.. It is just a VB app that doesn't change window title!!

it seems to embed but RR (or plugin) minimizes.. If I close the embeded app and then try to open it (more than 20 times) it embeds fine!! Only the first time is the difficult one!

you need to make sure you don't have any other application with the title "accelerometer" (or similar) running or RR may be trying to embed the wrong window.. you can probably try changing the applications title to something more specific..

Tried to change it to G Meter.. Exactly the same reaction..
When I try to put something different as app title it won't embed it at all..
I cannot figure out anything else!
Should I put something else apart from the embed space in the accel.skin?

if you can send or post me the application i can tell you exactly what to use for window title OR you can look at the FAQ on embedding applications, using the WinSpectosSPY application.

It doesn't embed SereneScreen Aquarium 2 screensaver, it only open the setting window (the window name is the same: Class Name "Aquarium_Window", Text "Marine Aquarium 2") ...

Screen savers typically use the entire window.. if it starts maximized the embedding may not work.. if you've tried: "!Aquarium_Window!Marine Aquirium 2" and it didn't work, then it probably won't embed in any application .
