Keyboard shortcuts with Mappoint

Is there any way to enable my keyboard shortcuts for VOL+, VOL-, RRnext, & RRprev commands? They work when the skin is showing at the bottom but once it disappears then they continue to function. I've been looking through all the different skin files trying to figure out if there is a way to add some "buttons" to the top of the screen all the time but don't actually show so that I can still access the commands with my keyboard, but I take it the status bar isn't actually part of a skin. So is there any way to make this work somehow?

Right now you're right.. only with a remote or touchscreen it's possible.. I can easily add a few lines of code to where pressing any key would first display the controls skin when hidden. Alternatively, if you're willing to make a different style Mappoint screen, I can work with on on adding support for it -- I'm at the point of not adding anything without skins to test with first...

If you could add those lines that would be awsome. I will work on a new skin that could maybe could be displayed all the time, although the map display area would have to be changed in the code. This would be my first skinning experience so it will most likely take awhile. So if you could enable the anykey function I would appreciate it.

I am trying to intergrate some factory steering wheel controls by having them simulate keystrokes so this would make them fully functional in RR since the GPS screen is the only one that dosn't always display the skin controls I need, and I usually just leave RR in GPS mode.

Have you had the chance to add those lines of code...I just finished the steering wheel install and the buttons work great for everything execpt when the I'm using Mappoint and the GPS Skin is not visible. I haven't used VB since high school so I don't even remember how I would get the source code to compile even if I could figure it out. Could you let me know what to do and if you plan on adding those lines of code?

just haven't got around adding to do it yet.. I've been working on my carputer lately whiich is having some bad issues ...

Hey, I was kinda hoping that this would have been included in this past release. Any update as to when we might see this feature? I don't mean to be a pest but it would be just perfect if I could stay in GPS mode all the time and not have to touch the screen to change the song and volume.
