XM update song

Took a long trip this past weekend, noticed that the XM station I am currently tuned to does not always update. About 50% of the time it will display the same artist/track label indefinitely, while all other stations seem to update. If I tune away from that station and then tune back in, it will update at least once and I will believe will continue to update indefinitely. I have an XMPCR with USB connection and listfollowssong=TRUE. Is this a known bug or most likely a problem with the XMPCR/USB -> serial driver?

Check/Tick the PCR mode option in RRConfig.... XMPCR does not automatically send channel updates like the XMD does...

OK, gave this a shot, have been testing it thoroughly over the last few weeks (sorry for the delay in this reply). XMPCR mode solves the problem when on the main SAT RADIO screen in your brushed metal skin, updating the channel list, etc., including for the currently playing channel. But this does not work reliably on GPS, etc. screens. The currently playing song will sometimes update but will usually 'hang' on a song and not change until I go back to the main SAT RADIO screen.
Got any other thoughts on this? Thanks!

Yeah, I heard of that before -- forgot about it... I just improved the PCR support to poll the current station when there's no playlist on the screen..

I've had the same problem for quite some time. The fix is: once the sound starts on the XM channel of your choice, double click on the channel. ( Click, then double click after about 5 seconds). The updates work from everywhere after that. Strange, I assume the double click reloads something in the RR/XM code to pull the info.

maybe the PCR supports auto-notification of the channel information but it may not accept the request until the channel is completely tuned ... I can't really test it without the hardware..
