If you have a phidget interface 8/8/8 I could indeed read the state of a digital input (probably a relay input) to determin if the headlights are on.
Once you've got your phidget interface wired to your headlights to test, I'll code it... (again, probably about 4 mins to code... pretty simple...)

Maybe if you say:
"Is there any chance while you are changing the code that you could add an additional option to change the Gamma / Skin based on a nightstart and daystart setting in RRConfig, seperate to GPS reading"...
then I may actually add it for you?
BTW, here's a great book to add to your Christmas list

:-)
 Well I'd appreciate that, and I'm sure a few others here would as well.

I think that's basically it.
Pretty much what roadhog said:
...
AutoSwitch=False
DayTime=8:00:00 AM
NightTime=6:00:00 PM
...
..if that works then you don't even need to bother, if that was thrown in to be implemented later then your work would be appreciated. The option to set it in rrconfig.exe would also make it slightly easier.

Yes, the daytime / nighttime are in the skin general.ini, along with the Gamma values... however, the question is should they be in there or would they be better off in the rr.ini?
My reasoning:
You can have a night skin and day skin. When RR starts it could be night... therefore you would immediatly want to load the nights skin. Basicaly the daygamma and nightgamma and day / night times are really skin independent. Therefore they are more suited to being in the rr.ini
Who agrees / disagrees? If so I can ensure that this funcitonality is there (as an option in RRConfig) and also move them into rr.ini too.

I agree, seems like it should be a global RR setting, not skin-dependant.
The other thing though is how does this work? Does it only check the time when RR is loaded? Because what if one resumes from hibernate and it is now night?

I would vote for the appropiate general.ini values to be global, ie placed in the rr.ini and edited by rrconfig. I suppose when this function was implemented it was envisaged that people would settle and customise their own skin with values to suit. Perhaps it's a hangover from MediaCar days as there is now an entry for day and night skin. Anyone (myself included) who wants further functionality provided by GPS info could petition Skippy76 to develop his (her?) plugin.

good reasoning
Not likely, I think there are only 3-4 female members out of the 25500 guys.

There you go... I've done it...
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road-runner/64261-released-beta-10-a.html
It took a bit longer than 5 mins though... I had to make major redesigns to RRConfig as RRConfig was based on just one form. When I went to add the control for the time to the form it reached it's max controls... This lead to a mamoth effort to redesign the RRConfig putting each category on to a seperate form!

This is still in BETA, has not been merged in GA release yet.

Of course I'm probably late but I agree. All I want is to be able to load a night skin when dark and a day skin when light using the system time. If RR loads and it's dark then please load the night skin first. Of course if you can make it an option for this behavior (turn on/off) then it should suit everyone.
Great job guys; keep it up.

Yes I'm ears for that! I'd like to see an option where you can set a time for night and day skin in the ini or settings. Then RoadRunner should launch the right skin depending on the system time and the times set in ini or settings. The option to this change manually is allready in RR.
GPS based is nice, but way to complicated for my and many others needs. (not to say there is no intrest in GPS based, cause there is)
Is this a hard thing to implement, or is it allready out there and did I miss it?
