Compro Actionmate TV + FM embedding app

had afew mins spare today and decided to make a start on this app, it sits inbetween RR and the compro pvr app, so allows you to control it from RR. As the compro app puts everything on a OSD then its quite easy to use, and switchs channels alot faster than the winamp plug in.

So far I have working

channel up
channel down
size (swaps between fixed rate and variable rate screen)
multiscreen (shows all channels on one screen)
Sound (toggles from stereo / mono / sap)

As we only have 5 tv channels in the uk, the up and down buttons work great.

I have made the app use the comsend command, so you would just do a skin as normal in roadrunner, then use something like this line to call it...

B,-1,428,88,86,"LOAD;tv.SKIN;usbtv;C:\Documents and Settings\CdRsKuLL\Desktop\Compro Embedding\usbtv.exe;usbtv",

then for the buttons in the actual tv.skin you would use this
B,112,430,130,56,"SENDMSG;usbtv;up", (change channel up)

problems so far...
You need to wait until the compro app is loaded and the splash screen from it has been removed.

You cant switch between say music and tv without having to restart the compro app.. two reason for this. 1. for some reason I dont understand winamp refuses to play when the compro app is running.. you also still get sound from the compro app.

You can set the capture device to mute, so this would stop you hearing the tv whilst back on audio.. but I dont know whats stopping winamp playing again ? can anyone help ?

once I have done the tv one, I will be adding a FM one too :-)

cheers

1-If you're using the Card's application, I'd suggest removing the winamp TV plugin to prevent conflict between the two.

2-I would call the TV screen with a "PAUSE" command to pause whatever else is in use (i.e Music), then call the "RESUME" command when leaving the TV screen to resume what was being used (can also be done to close and reopen winamp if needed).

3-I'd suggest trying to change output plugins and its settings to see if you can use winamp after that. It is possible that DirectSound will not be able to play anything while the TV app is using the hardware... depending on how the TV Card mutes itself, you may be able to mute it, then try winamp to see if it works.

hi m8,

removed the winamp tv plug in, also set winamp to output using the waveOUT plugin, also added a pause and a resume. I have also added a quit command to my app, which closes before switching back to audio, but sadly still no luck at playing sound again. The card does use directsound, and sadly this is only the default setting. Any other ideas fella ?

If pause/resume doesn't cut it, you can try the close/open winamp commands and if that doesn't work either, You can try a card reset with devcon.exe (RR's folder) to restart the card after using TV (with RUNQW) .. If the TV card locks the directsound output it is very unlikely you can leave it running on the background.

ok sussed out what was going on. I now have it so when u switch to tv it boots up the compro app and pauses winamp, then on pressing audio button, it closes my app, which inturn sends a message back to rr to resume the music.. this is all working fine and as it should. The only reason that I'm shutting the compro down is that the mute option it has mutes the main volume and not the sound input which would be better. Is it possible to mute this with a bit of code ? If not no worrys

I added support to mute any audio line recently (At least through indicators)... if I have not made a command for muting any audio line by command, I have to add it anyway.. this should be done using the audio line's name.
