Winamp Playlists and RR

I have the latest version of RR (8/8/05) and WinAmp (5.094) installed, and everything works pretty ok.

The only weird thing I noticed is when I use indash's HU adapter, that allows me to change the songs played in Winamp by using the buttons on my Audi Concert radio to change between numbers and playlists in Winamp.

This all works fine, and I'm able to switch between numbers within a playlist without a problem. However, when changing the playlist this works fine in WinAmp and I will be able to select songs out of the new playlist, only in RR it still shows the previous playlist, and will highlight the number of the song I selected in the new playlist.

If I check in Winamp itself, the correct playlist is displayed.

It seems to me to RR does not synchronize the playlist settings between WinAmp and RR. Is this a bug, are behaviour I can determine through a config setting ?

GG

Loading a new playlist in winamp does not automatically update RR's playlist.. you need to issue a command to RR: "RELOADLIST" that will cause it to sync with the current winamp playlist. I am not sure how you're controlling winamp, so it's hard to tell how you could do that.. but if you can manage to have winamp save the current playlist as Winamp.m3u (in winamp's folder), RR will detect the change and update its playlist without the "RELOADLIST" command.

Winamp is controlled directly through Indash.org HU adapter. This is an adapter you plug inbetween the car's radio and the computer, and will emulate a CD changer by reading/switching playlists as defined upfront in Winamp. Very similar the the Ipod interfaces, but then for MP3's stored on your computer. When I press 'change CD' on my car radio, it will send a command to Winamp, which in turn will change to the next/previous playlist. Similar with 'next song' on car radio; it will make Winamp go to the next song within the playlist. This is working great with Winamp, and thus also with RR, with the exception of when I change the 'CD', and thus the playlist within Winamp. RR does not pick up this change, and it will show me the incorrect songs.

Probably we would need a 'reload' button on the skin (using MMI skin at the moment) that will reload the playlist from Winamp, or send the reloadlist command each time RR senses that a new song has been started.

sending the reloadlist everytime a song changes would be very wasteful.. if you can program the keys to perform different functions (like run an application) it would be most likely the easiest way to improve this feature.
